:Yeah, I think it should be "turtle" since "kappa" refers to a mythical creature. Turtles in Japanese are "kame", not "kappa". :If the localization calls them "turtles", then that's what we should call them (while also still acknowledging that they are "kappas" in the Japanese versions). As for which name would be more fitting, that doesn't really matter all that much in the grand scheme of things considering their identity as "turtles" is really only a localization thing due to Kappas not being very well known outside of Japan (it's the very same reason as to why Tom Nook and the Nooklings got their species changed from "raccoon dog" to "raccoon").
