Donkey Kong is one of the NES games that players can collect in Animal Crossing. It was originally an arcade game, but was later ported for the Nintendo Entertainment System.
Gameplay
The gameplay for Donkey Kong is split into three levels, where the player controls Mario (known as Jumpman during the time of the game's release). The goal is travel and jump through a construction zone in order to get to to the top to rescue the Princess, Pauline, from the giant ape Donkey Kong. After completing all three levels, the game loops back to the first and gameplay continues, but at a faster speed, and continuing to speed with each successful completion of the three levels.

Obtaining Donkey Kong can be done in various and random ways. Some common ways to obtain Donkey Kong is through Tom Nook's Monthly Raffle, Crazy Redd's, as present from a neighbor, treasure hunts, birthday presents, etc.
