This page is a list of descriptions of the personalities of Islanders as they appear in Animal Crossing and Doubutsu no Mori e+ based off their dialogue and interactions. Please note that as there are no official terms for these personalities, the terms used are fan-coined and some possible alternatives are provided. This page is WIP.
Stoic
- Alternate terms: hermit, lonely, philosopher, ascetic, somber
Dreamer
As a dreamer or Normal Islander, Bliss is peace-loving, bohemian, and whimsical in nature and will often wander off into fantasies or daydreams. She will frequently reference the natural beauty of the island around her, read auras, and wish peace upon the player. She is often kind to the extreme, hoping to never offend any living creature, but she often spaces out and can even speak nonsense, dreaming about magic, fairy tales, and being a princess. She seeks tranquility and harmony in all things and will ask the player for items to improve her meditation. She is sweet-natured like normal mainlanders but is much more sensitive, fanciful, and eccentric.

Surfer Bro

Auntie
- Alternate terms: tomboy, fusspot, nostalgic
Romantic
- Alternate terms: suave, gentleman
Dramatic
As a dramatic or Snooty Islander, Maelle is ditzy, sincere, and self-centered, eager to gush to the player about all of her thoughts and feelings. She is highly social despite living on an island and cares about her relationships, but she cannot stop herself from slighting others or lashing out if she does not get her way. Somewhat vapid, she enjoys makeup and discussing her physical beauty, but she is prone to spacing out on practical matters and is easily grossed out. She fears others will dislike her for being stuck up or immature, and her catty remarks and childish manner of speaking may at times give those impressions. However, her affinity for others, relatable honesty, and affable charm rarely allow her to be truly unlikeable. She is pushy in her requests for items she has been dying to have. Like Snooty mainlanders, Ankha has a sharp tongue and a high opinion of herself, but she is contrastingly unsophisticated with little sense of manners.
