The three Lava Lamps (purple, blue, and green)
Lights, or lamps, are important for your house especially if you like to play at night. If you don't have at least one, your house will always be dark, unless it is daytime. (Please note that in Animal Crossing for GameCube, you don't need a lamp- all you have to do is press "Z" on the Gamecube controller and the lights will turn on.) If you are in a villager's house with that villager in it, the lights will already be on. There are no ceiling lights or wall lamps. Most lamps can be placed on a table, though not all are able to. The types of lamps you can find are:
Themed Lights
- Exotic Lamp
- Regal Lamp
- Cabana Lamp
- Green Lamp
- Modern Lamp
- Lovely Lamp
- Robo-Lamp
- Blue Dresser (Note: The Blue Dresser is actually a lamp disguised as a dresser. The small lamp on top of it disables the function of a dresser in the game, so you cannot open it.)

Lava Lamps
- Blue Lava Lamp
- Purple Lava Lamp

Note: Lava Lamps are only for decoration- they do not light up your room, but can turn on and off by pressing "A."

- Snowman Lamp (obtained only from building a perfect snowman)
- Mush Lamp (obtained only from the Acorn Festival)
- Mush Stand (obtained only from the Acorn Festival)
