Boomer, a philosophical islander.

Philosophical characters are male islanders in Animal Crossing. They frequently express philosophical musings about the world in general and their eremitic lifestyle in particular.

In subsequent games, philosophical characters become lazy villagers.

Characteristics

Philosophical islanders generally act serene. Their houses are initially bare except for one or two items such as gyroids. Despite their apparent detachment from worldly goods, they frequently request that the player bring them certain items, which they will place in their house. However, their taste is fickle, and they may suddenly return an item to the player.
