The Wii U (ウィー・ユー, Wii Yuu), also known by its codename "Project Café", is a recently released gaming console developed by Nintendo. It is a successor to the Wii and has a similar appearance and color scheme. The Wii U is part of the eighth generations of consoles, though will still compete alongside seventh generation consoles, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The systems main focus is different styles of playing. The controller has a 6 inch touch screen in the center, along with an analog stick on each side, a control pad, and the A, B, X, and Y buttons found on the Nintendo DS. There are also ZL, ZR, L, and R buttons. A microphone, speakers, and an inward-facing camera are also on the controller.

The Wii U was first thought of in 2008. After discovering a lack of interest for hard-core gamers for the Wii, Nintendo started to work on a system that would appeal to both them and the casual gaming audiences.
The Nintendo 3DS is the successor to the Nintendo DS. It has 3D technology without the need for glasses. The screens are using a parallax barrier system. It was released on February 26, 2011 in Japan, in Europe on March 25, 2011, on March 27, 2011 in North America and March 31, 2011 in Australia, respectively. It was originally priced at 25,000 Yen in Japan and $249 in North America. Its price in Europe is up to the retailer. In North America, 18 titles were available during the launch, with three being first party.

On June 7, 2011, an update made the eShop available, which is where a virtual console is available. Game Boy and Game Boy Color games are being sold in a similar style to the Wii's virtual console, except for the fact that Nintendo Points are no longer used. DSiWare and 3DS Software can also be downloaded.

NL is the installment of the SER for the 3DS. It was rumored to be a launch title, but that was proven false when it was not released at any of the launches.

Features
The Nintendo 3DS has many new features. Firstly, it is capable of glasses-free 3D on its top screen, which has been expanded width-ways. The 3D effect can be increased or turned off entirely with the slider located on the right-hand side of the top screen. Nintendo has recommended that children under 6 are not permitted to use the 3D effect, which can be locked off with Parental Controls, however the American Optometric Association has stated that 3D gaming on the Nintendo 3DS will not harm children's eyes, if used in moderation.

The console includes 'augmented reality' cards, which one places on a flat surface and uses the Nintendo 3DS camera to view. The cards are then transformed into an object which is visible through the 3DS camera. Nintendo has stated that users 'are not to be surprised if they see a dragon coming out of their kitchen table.' An example card is a game in which players are required to shoot targets surrounding objects.

The Nintendo 3DS includes a gyroscopic sensor that registers movement, similar to that of the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Like the Nintendo Wii, the Nintendo 3DS includes the Virtual Console. Players are able to download games from the Game Boy and Game Boy Color. Purchases are made through the Nintendo eShop, using a cash system rather than Nintendo Points.

The Nintendo 3DS has the standard A, B, X, Y, Start, Select, L and R buttons, as well as the D-Pad. It also has the Circle Pad, an analogue stick, and a Home button.

Similar to the Nintendo Wii's Wii Address Book, the Nintendo 3DS has a function named the Friend List, where people are able to see which of their friends are currently online and their status messages. The Notification LED will light orange when a friend is online.

SpotPass is the ability for the 3DS to seek Wi-Fi signals and automatically download content while in sleep mode. It may be used for players to download Distributed Items in NL. StreetPass is the ability to connect with other 3DS systems while in sleep mode A widely-cited example is that passing 3DS systems in the street are able to send Miis to each other.

Friend Codes remain in the 3DS system's software, however, only one is needed per system, as opposed to the Wii and DS's one each for every game.

The Activity Log tracks both game play (noting which games have been played and for how long) as well as physical activity (counting every step taken while carrying a 3DS). The feature encourages walking more every day to earn Play Coins, which can be used with compatible games and applications to acquire special content and a variety of other benefits.

The two external cameras are used together to create 3D photos, however the interior camera can capture 2D photos and 2D videos.

The game Face Raiders is automatically built into the Nintendo 3DS. In it, the player uses the 3D camera and Augmented Reality to shoot faces which have been taken from photos captured with the 3D cameras.

Price Drop
On July 28, 2011, Nintendo announced a major price drop to (169.99 in the US) starting August 12. In addition, consumers who bought the system at its original price will have access to ten Nintendo Entertainment System games as well as ten Game Boy Advance at no charge before they are available to the general public.

The Train was the first form of transport introduced in AF, but was replaced by the taxi in WW and the bus in CF. It is where you start the game, and talk to Rover for the first time to determine the name of the Player, the name of the town, gender, and appearance. It is driven by a monkey that looks similar to Porter. Its rest-stop is at the Train Station.

The train is used to transport to another town, by inserting a Gamecube memory card with another town saved on it. This is the only form of traveling between towns available in the GameCube version of Animal Crossing. In Wild World and City Folk, the Town Gate was introduced as well as Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection (for the DS) and WiiConnect24 (for the Wii), which allows nearby devices to connect to one another, or to connect to the internet and Nintendo. This made using memory cards obsolete.

The train ride takes a few minutes. During the ride, special characters may come up to talk to the player. For example, Blanca will sit opposite and talk to the player, usually sparking a discussion about her lack of face and the player's reaction to it (as well as her reaction). This is when she will ask the player to draw her a new face. Joan will also make an appearance, sitting on the seat by the door drifting off to sleep and waking up suddenly.

The train returned in Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
Yay Day is an event in WW. It is a holiday where the player and their neighbors compliment each other.

Event
In the days leading up to Yay Day, villagers will practice their compliments when the player speaks to them. On Yay Day, when the player speaks to a villager, the villager will compliment them and ask the player to give a compliment in return. The player will then be able to type a compliment. Doing this increases the friendship level between the player and villager.

Depending on the villager's personality, they may not accept the compliment, or they will ask the player to give them a new compliment.

After Yay Day
Further on in the year, some villagers mention the compliment given to them on Yay Day, snooty or lazy villagers remembering them more than others. Most snooty villagers say: "<Compliment>! Why does that sound so familiar? Oh yeah! That was the cheesy pick-up line from like, a year ago!" And the lazy villagers say: "<Compliment>! I can't wait to say it to my crush!"

A glitch is a program error or a problem in a game. It usually happens when something in a game is done in a different way than the programmers thought. Usually, glitches are harmless, but some kinds can delete stored data. When a glitch occurs, the screen may turn blank or different colors will pop up, strange sounds appear, or the game will freeze or crash.
Most of the glitches in the SER are not harmful. As an example, one of the glitches, as demonstrated in a posted video, is harmless and can actually make the player's house look better. It can be quite useful, but does not add to the HRA score. Some are merely humorous; another glitch, as found in PG, allows the player to walk on top of surfaces such as tables.
Sometimes, players will encounter a glitch on their own while playing normally. It is very rare for it to happen, but this may cause things like a villager standing on top of the roof of their house, Gracie having a house, the player being able to walk into the ocean, beta fish appear, and so on. This could be a result of a player hacking their game, a faulty game or just a random glitch.
There is a glitch, in which Redd disappears during Sale Day.

Town Bell Glitch
In Wild World, If one were to save the game when the town bells are ringing, the bells will continue ringing as the game is saving. This glitch was fixed in City Folk.

Miniature Tree Glitch
The Miniature Tree Glitch is a glitch found in PG, whereupon for no apparent reason a tree would stop growing. It has been hypothesised that this is caused by a building growing or expanding to a point where there is no gap between said building and a tree. This can be further established by the fact that trees planted with no space between them and a building will wilt. It seems that there is no 'wilted' stage for stages 2, 3 and 4 of tree growth, causing the tree to merely stop growing instead of dying. The disadvantage of this glitch is that it prevents fruit growth on said tree, potentially wasting the player at most 1,500 Bells every four days. Miniature trees count towards perfect town status, just as normal trees do.

The glitch is best observed near Tom Nook's store.

Lighthouse Glitch
pBC9X7pZTI0
The lighthouse glitch is found in CF and can only be done over wi-fi. It allows the player to climb on top of the windmill and walk on it. It is possible for up to 4 people to get onto the lighthouse at a time. This glitch can also be performed with a windmill but was discovered with a lighthouse. The glitch is due to an error in the programming that has space for a player to walk on top of the lighthouse.

Money Duplication Glitch
The Money Duplication Glitch is a glitch found in CF. It allows the player to duplicate any amount of money, without time travelling or hacking/cheating. The glitch was discovered by a YouTube user named 8BITADDICTION. In fact, the glitch works with any item, not just money.

Steps
#Add money to duplicate to one's pockets. MAKE SURE pockets (including letter space) are less than half full.
#Save the game.
#Travel to a friend's town.
#Drop all of the money on the floor (making sure the friend knows not to pick up the money)
#Head back to the gate.
#Tell Copper that one wishes to go home.
#When Copper says 'Understood! I will take care of that, of course! It will take just a brief moment!' and the wi-fi connection sound is heard (a high pitch short tune), press the HOME button on the Wii remote several times.
#When it works, press Reset.
#Now, log in as one's character with Rover.
#Exit the house. Check pockets. If done correctly, one's pockets will be filled with the same amount of Bells that were dropped, over in the town of a friend.
#Go to said friend's town.
#All of the money, provided the glitch has worked correctly, and that the trusted friend has not stolen the money, it will be on the floor where it was dropped. Glitch complete.
#Leave friend's town.

Advantages
No hacking, cheating or time travelling required. This glitch is, as far as anyone knows, is risk-free. Easy way to make Bells. Mr. Resetti will not appear if the glitch is done correctly.

Disadvantages
A trusted friend is required. Money is not considered legitimate amongst SER players. Requires Wi-Fi Connection.

No Resetti Glitch
If one plays WW on the 3DS and hits the power button, then hits home, and gets back on to Animal Crossing: Wild World, Mr. Resetti will not appear. There is a simiar glitch in CF. If the player does not save and Pete arrives with a letter from Nintendo, Resetti will not appear.

C18herringchttps://nookipedia.com/w/index.php?title=Villager&diff=35584Villager2012-11-24T17:10:49Z
C18herringc:

Villagers are the main non-playable characters in the SER. They live simple, quiet lives scattered around the player's town as the other residents. They do the same things as the playable character, such as fishing, finding fossils, and collecting insects. They are all animals, as the title of the series, SER, suggests, and they come in variety of species.

Villagers move into the town at random, and whoever moves in is completely at random - there is no set list of villagers who will move in. Each villager initially comes with a unique interior house design, which will gradually change over time depending on what furniture they request, or insects, fish, fossils, and clothes they obtain. Flooring and wallpaper eventually change, usually depending on how long the villager has been a resident of the town. They may also develop a friendship with the player. Unlike the player, they do not have the ability to expand their home.

Appearance
Villagers appear as animals within each game in the series. They stand on two feet with the same posture and poise as the human playable characters do. They also wear clothes, make-up, and shoes, giving them a humanoid appearance. They are capable of acting out different perceived, human emotions from crying to rejoicing, which are considered impossible in most animal species.

Interaction
Villagers can be interacted with in various ways. Players can talk to villagers by approaching them, and can result in either a short discussion, playing a game, or receiving a favor to complete, such as giving the villager a certain item or delivering presents to other villagers.

Villagers can be "annoyed" in a number of ways, though the effects of annoying villagers is only temporary:
*"Pushing" villagers by continuously walking into them. If done for long enough, the villager will get upset at the player.
*Repeatedly talking to villagers to the point where the villager get annoyed. If done for long enough, the villagers will begin to run away from the player.
*Repeatedly hitting them with certain tools, such as the net.

Personalities
This section briefly underlines the key notes about each personality trait. For more information, check out the individual personality pages:

Male
*Cranky
*Jock
*Lazy

Female
*Normal
*Peppy
*Snooty

There are different personalities and characteristics found in villagers. All villagers share the same interests and hobbies, but some are more apparent in individual personalities than others. There are six different personalities; cranky, jock, and lazy, which are male villager personalities and snooty, peppy, and normal, which are female personalities. The different personalities share similar traits, especially the male and female equivalents, such as:

Lazy and normal villagers are kinder towards the playable character. Jock and peppy villagers are also kind, but like to compete against the player in competitions, such as Hide-and-Seek (City Folk), fishing, and bug catching (Wild World). Snooty and cranky villagers are the refined villagers in a town, who see themselves as socially and mentally superior to other villagers, but will make an exception to the playable character, who they may learn to confide in but still appear arrogant.

Appearances
PG
Initially in original PG, there are six villagers in the town when the player moves in. The maximum number is 15; once 15 villagers have moved in, one of the already existing villagers will attempt to move out to allow a new villager to move in. Villagers have a unique role in PG. During town events, they gather and celebrate in different areas of the town to partake in different events. Most noted is during the New Year's Eve celebrations, where they gather around the town pond (in future releases, they are simply scattered around town, and have special conversations revolving around the festivities).

During Summer and Winter, villagers may live outside in a tent or an igloo for the day, where they become the source of collecting Camping Gear. In future game releases, they are not a source of rare, unique furniture, but become a means of gaining furniture through trades. They also do not camp out, and only live in their homes.

WW
Initially in WW, there are three villagers in the town when the player moves in, out of a possible eight. Once eight villagers have moved in, one of the already existing villagers may move out, to allow another new villager to move in, lowering the number to seven until the new villager moves in. Although villagers do have a similar role as they do in PG, they do have a few new features.

When the playable character befriends them, they are likely to give the player a picture of themselves, as proof of their friendship. Each picture has a unique quote for each villager, which can be read when the picture is placed in the player's house and clicked.

They are also competitive in Wild World, a feature unique to the game. During some conversations, they may ask the player if they want to see who can catch the biggest fish or find the rarest insect. These are games which are similar to the Fishing Tourney and Bug-Off. During these events, when two villagers meet they will not talk.

Another new feature were the rumors that some villagers were dating. This could be discovered by talking to some of the villagers in the town, who would either be gossiping about the two villagers, or one of the two villagers in the relationship. There was no proof, however, of the two villagers dating, other than through conversation. This feature appears to have been scrapped in City Folk.

Unlike the first game, the villagers walk at a much slower pace than the player, which is continued through CF.

CF
Initially in CF, there are six villagers in the town when the player moves in. The maximum number is ten. Once ten villagers have moved in, one of the already existing villagers will attempt to move out to allow a new villager to move in.

Villagers have a slightly different role than in WW. They no longer compete against the player, as this feature was the prominent feature within the Bug-Off and Fishing Tourney events. They do, however, have a new feature which is playing Hide-and-Seek, where a group of up to three villagers hide around the town; behind trees, signs and buildings (but never in them). They no longer give out pictures of themselves when they become friends with the player.

Villagers now talk about the glamour and style found within the city, a new area found in the game. It is the only place in any of the games to find villagers who are not residents in the player's town.

NL
In NL Villagers have more actions than in previous games, for example, they will shake trees, be seen entering and exiting stores, and will fish during the Fishing tourney.

The Taxi is one of the only vehicles used in Animal Crossing: Wild World. It is a small black taxi driven by Kapp'n.

Description
The taxi is only ever used to travel between towns and, unlike the bus or the train, it cannot be seen or boarded except when moving. It drops or picks up the player from in front of the town hall. The taxi has a very simplistic design. There is a glass partition between the front of the taxi, where Kapp'n sits and the back part, where the player sits. Most of the back part is never seen by the player. The front has all the typical trappings of a car and also has a small figurine of Kapp'n in his boat from the first Animal Crossing.

The taxi also makes an appearance in Smashville in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, where it can be seen driving past the town hall periodically.

Trivia
*Sometimes, when the taxi ride ends, the figurine of Kapp'n and his boat will fall over right before the taxi arrives at its destination.
Nintendo DSi XL
The last model developed was the Nintendo DSi XL. It is 93% the screen size of the original DSi. The DSi XL was released in Japan in late 2009, in early March in Europe, and on March 28, 2010 in North America.

Stylus
The Stylus is a utensil that is used to operate the lower screen on the Nintendo DS (commonly called the touch screen). The Nintendo DSi XL has two different sized styluses, one full sized, and the other slightly bigger than the Nintendo DSi's stylus. Animal Crossing: Wild World has two different control schemes: one that is entirely controlled by the buttons on the DS, and one that is controlled entirely by the stylus. Input from the method not currently in use will cause Wild World to switch control modes; however the initial input will not be recognized until used again.

Capitalization
It appears that I was too quick to correct the capitilization of some pages. For some reason it appears that the current standard has all words besides the first without a capital. While I understand that in game items are typically spelled in all lower-case lettering, I do not believe it correct to have page titles with lower-case words. :It basically comes down to being grammatically correct (not very exciting reasoning, I know). Hello,

Nice to meet you! I'm, Wolfgang an admin and bureaucrat in Club Penguin Wiki. I have recently moved from Wikia, I'm not new to Nookipedia. But I noticed many admins and lead editors are inactive, you must consider demoting inactive users that are inactive since 2010 and promoting active ones. Sorry if I'm interfering, but I want the best for Nookipedia.
:Hey again. Thanks for the concern. We're currently in the slow process of doing that - we're just about to promote a fairly new, yet active and experienced user to adminship. However, it does take a bit of time for users to become experienced enough with editing this wiki, and for us to determine who is fit to be a staff member. Right now the majority of active users here are doing a great job editing, but still need a bit more time and experience before they're ready to become part of the staff. Moving too quickly to promote active users would be a bad idea if the users are unprepared and inexperienced, but as soon as I and other staff members feel a user is ready to be promoted, they will be. If you'd like some tips regarding what you can do yourself to show that you are prepared for becoming a staff member, let me know. Thanks again. ~SuperHamster Talk 12:51, 14 August 2012 (EDT)
::I completely agree with Wolfgang, sorry for barging in. I think we really do need to start going through a slow-but steady process of demoting and promoting... As such, I understand how hard it is to get promoted.. I'm one of the more general active and effiecent users on Zelda Wiki and I'm still an autocomfirmed. It comes down to the overall quality of your edits, not quanity. == Adding Bugs ==

Hi, I don't know if this is the proper procedure, but I've been going around the wiki fixing up things, and I noticed that the Rainbow Stag isn't even listed as a bug. There is no connection between the Rainbow Stag Article and the insect category page. Can you add the connection? I don't seem like I have that power...--BellBank 21:26, 12 July 2012 (EDT)
:'Ello - I went ahead and added the article to :Category:Insect. Thanks a lot for pointing that out. In the future, note that you do have the power to add articles to categories :) Simply add the category you want to the bottom of the page, with the "Category:" prefix and double brackets, like this:

Hello,

Nice to meet you! I'm, Sdgsgfs an user in this wiki. Well, I'm not really new to editing nor the Animal Crossing City (was shocked about the moving thing, but was a good idea actually). I want to rename myself, since the name is kinda not professional, so can you please, rename me to "Wolfgang"?

Thank you, Sdgsgfs 13:27, 11 August 2012 (EDT)
Hello

Sorry if I'm interfering, but I want the best for here.

Hello,
I have a question. how do you put a created article in a category? Thanks for the answer.

Thank you, Wolfgang 12:36, 14 August 2012 (EDT)

As such, I'm a lot more used to an active staff on Zelda Wiki, this makes me more comfortable while editing because I know most of my mistakes can be fixed. Making 5000 edits that aren't good, won't get you promoted. --XXSuperXXNintendoXx 18:31, 14 August 2012 (EDT)
:::Definitely correct, as much as we need an active and experienced staff though, we need an active user base to promote in the first place. In the next few weeks I think we could see a few promotions, though :) Thanks for the input guys, it's appreciated. Me and the few other staff will keep an eye out for when we think any editors have shown the knowledge and skill to become part of the staff. ~SuperHamster Talk 00:27, 15 August 2012 (EDT)

Franklin (フランクリン) the turkey realizes he's in trouble when Tortimer, the mayor, invites him for dinner, or rather, to be dinner. Franklin wears yellow overalls. He appears around town between 3 PM and 9 PM. During the Harvest Festival, Franklin will hide behind obstacles such as trees, buildings and signs, and wait for the player to bring him pieces of silverware from the banquet. Franklin believes that if the player pilfers the utensils, the villagers will be unable to serve him. For each piece brought to him, the player will recieve one piece of the Harvest Series, including the wallpaper/carpet.

If the player talks to any of the villagers during the Harvest Festival, they'll talk about where they've sighted Franklin. The player can also get a letter and a number clue each time the player talks to them.

Franklin is unusual among animal crossing residents and visitors in that he is entirely static; unlike the other visitors, such as Saharah or Joan, he does not walk around the town. Instead, Franklin will appear in his hiding place and will disappear soon after the player moves the camera out of view. He will then reappear instantly in a different hiding place, so that sometimes it can appear that he has jumped ahead of you somehow! Some players may be able to tell when Franklin disappears as there can be a slight shudder to the screen as the game reloads (and puts him in a different place).

While in one hiding place, Franklin will only accept one 'knife and fork' set, so if you wish to give him another the player must move away from the hiding place until Franklin disappears, and search for him again.

Trivia
* For a laugh, the player can cut down the tree Franklin is hiding behind (if he is hiding behind one in the first place) and Franklin will be scared.
*Franklin may be named after Benjamin Franklin, who supposedly preferred the Wild Turkey to the Bald Eagle as the national bird of the United States.
*Franklin will use the word "freakin'" when communicating with him.
