Animal Crossing City is a wiki hosted by the wiki-farm Wikia, that was founded by Aeryka in August 2005. It provides information for the entire Animal Crossing series, including the film. The articles are written by registered and un-registered members, who collaborate with set guidelines through talk pages and the Wikia blog system. In 2010, Animal Crossing City split up into two seperate websites, with the original maintained by members who continue to use it and Nookipedia, due to conflicting interests and limitations of the Wikia service.

In 2012, Wikia decided to to change the skin that was "Monaco" to a skin called "Oasis". Many wikis didn't support the skin, so many moved off Wikia. Among the wikis that moved off is "Animal Crossing City". Although, not the whole community moved, but majority did move, due to conflicting interests and limitations of the Wikia service. The majority that moved now hosts an independent wiki called "Nookipedia". "Animal Crossing City" became dead since the merge, with 4/5 users editing per day.
