Animal Crossing X Mario Kart 8 is a downloadable content pack (DLC) for the Wii U game Mario Kart 8, which will contain content based on the Animal Crossing series, namely the characters Isabelle and the human player as playable characters. It will also contain a cup based on Animal Crossing which features a Tom Nook leaf as its logo, and two new vehicles, the City Tripper and the Streetle. The Crossing Cup's signature track has players racing through an Animal Crossing village whose environment changes each time you play. Familiar faces can be found cheering on the sidelines, and Resetti even makes an appearance as an unforeseen obstacle, popping out of the ground similar to Monty Mole. The track will feature newly recorded and remixed music more suited to the fast-paced Mario Kart atmosphere. The DLC pack will be released on April 23, 2015 (ahead of its initial May 2015 release date) in the US for $7.99, taking up 1 GB of space in the Wii U's memory.[1] Prices and release dates for other regions are unknown.
