Anteaters are a species of villager in the Animal Crossing series. They have wide bodies, prominent long noses, and small ears, in addition to fan-like tails, similar to the ostriches. They lack mouths, and instead talk by moving the ends of their noses up and down, much like Tom Nook.

There are ten anteater villagers as of Animal Crossing: New Horizons; seven female, and three male. Two of them are peppy, three are normal, one is jock, one is cranky, two are snooty, and one is smug. There are no lazy or big sister anteaters. There are two anteaters who have not returned after Doubutsu no Mori e+: Lulu and Nosegay. As of April 2021, Pango and Olaf are the only anteaters who do not appear in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.

In Animal Crossing and Animal Crossing: Wild World, anteater villagers cannot be one of the starting villagers in the player's town. This is also true for Animal Crossing: City Folk, with the exception of Antonio.
