When a player finds a snowball, they must approach it and roll it around in the snow to make the it grow. In {{PG}} you must control a snowball much like a ball, kicking it around. However, in {{WW}}, the player is able to hold the snowball and roll it around, which gives you more control over where the snowball goes. It will also break if it lands in a hole or falls down a hill. Once two snowballs are large enough, you will be able to push them into each other and create a Snowman. If the Snowman likes the proportions of the snowball body you created for him, he will reward you with a piece of [[furniture]] from the [[Snowman Series]]. However, if you make the wrong proportions, the Snowman will act depressed and you will not recieve any reward.

The sports balls are very difficult to control. If attempted to be rolled up a hill, it will simply roll down until the player blocks it from rolling. If it lands in a body of water, the player will have to let the town reset.

The player standing next to a ball in Animal Crossing.

Balls are objects in Doubutsu no Mori, Doubutsu no Mori+, Animal Crossing, and Doubutsu no Mori e+ that appear in the player's town. They can be kicked by the player if walked into. There are three types of balls: a soccer ball, basketball, and volleyball. If a ball is kicked into a body of water, it cannot be retrieved and will disappear if the player enters a building. If a ball is kicked into a hole, it will fall in, and it can be retrieved if hit with a shovel. Balls cannot initially appear in acres that contain the player houses, Tom Nook's store, the train station, the lake, or the museum.

Villagers may ask the player to bring them a ball if they ask for work. In Doubutsu no Mori e+, Dung Beetles push balls around; if donated to the museum, the Dung Beetle will push around a ball in the bug exhibit.
