A bay is a geographical feature that can be found in a player's town in the Animal Crossing series. Bays have the appearance of a small river pool located next to the town's ocean, however, there are two different types of bays, the Non-Beached Bay and the Beached Bay.
Non-Beached Bay
A non-beached bay can be defined as a bay that doesn't encompass a beach. As a result, a number of flora that can usually be found further inland can be found within the bay's boundaries, including weeds, Oak Trees, and flowers. In Animal Crossing and Animal Crossing: City Folk, the town's lighthouse can be found on a non-beached bay, providing light for nearby ships.
Beached Bay
The second type of bay that can appear within a player's town is the beached bay. As its name suggests, a beached bay is a bay with a beach. Unlike non-beached bays, flora and objects that are found near the town's coast appear frequently on beached bays, such as shells and Coconut Palms.
