The Boy's Festival is an event that is only celebrated in Doubutsu no Mori and in the Japanese version of Animal Crossing. It starts on 20th April and ends 5th May. During this period of time, Carp flags will appear around the player's town, and Tom Nook will sell Samurai Suits. These items are considered a symbol of strength for the Japanese. This holiday is celebrated in Japan. In Animal Crossing and Doubutsu no Mori e+, the event was called Windsocks. The Windsocks can also be seen in the early days of May in Animal Crossing, usually starting around Spring Cleaning.

The Carp Windsock, or Kenobori, as it appears in the Japanese version of Animal Crossing: City Folk

Later, the carp flag was available as a distributed item to Japanese Animal Crossing: City Folk players. The item's name was the Koinobori (fish-shaped windsock).
