Candy as it appears in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Candy is an item that appears in Animal Crossing, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It is often depicted as a sweet wrapped in a red, yellow, green or blue-striped wrapper. In the games that candy appears in, it is sold throughout October in preparation for Halloween. It can also be found during other events as well.

Appearances[edit]

In Animal Crossing[edit]

In Animal Crossing on Halloween night, from 6 PM until 1 AM the next morning, villagers dressed as Jack, the Czar of Halloween, chase the player in order to receive candy. If the player refuses to concede candy, the clothes or inventory items are transformed. When players give candy to Jack himself, they receive a piece of the Spooky Series set.

During October, Tom Nook sells up to five pieces of candy per day, and they cost 100 Bells each. They take the place of flower bags in the shop from October 16 to October 30, while flower bags take the place of saplings, meaning no saplings are sold while candy is being sold.

In City Folk[edit]

In Animal Crossing: City Folk, candy can be given to the player by visiting the houses of the villagers who stayed in on Halloween night by wearing a costume. Also, during the new event, Festivale, candy can be won from villagers in luck-based challenges except hide-and-seek and can be supplied to the host of the festival - Pavé. He will ask for three of a certain colored-wrapper of candy, which will reward the player with Festivale Series furniture. They also can be found on Bunny Day, in some eggs. If the player leaves candy on the ground, ants can appear crawling over it.

During October, Tom Nook sells one piece of candy per day in Animal Crossing: City Folk, and they cost 400 Bells each.

In New Leaf[edit]

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, candy was replaced by feathers for Festivale, but still appears during Bunny Day and Halloween, and it is on sale at the Nookling Stores, temporarily replacing Fortune Cookies in October.

In New Horizons[edit]

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, candy was added in the 1.5.0 Fall Update, being sold at Nook's Cranny throughout the month of October for 120 Bells. Timmy and Tommy only allow the player to buy one piece per day. Candy can be left on the ground to attract an ant.
