A category is a collection of furniture based on a shared theme. Appearing in Wild World and all subsequent games, categories include art, dolls, instruments, models, and plants. Villagers may ask for an item from a specific category, and the Happy Home Academy rewards a point bonus if the player has a certain number of items from a category in their house.
