Chameleons are a type of special reptile characters in the Animal Crossing series, first appearing in Animal Crossing: City Folk. Real-world chameleons have unique eyes with connected eye-lids and a small hole big enough for a pupil to see-through. Another distinctive trait of chameleons is their eye movements, which appear to be separate in each eye.
To date, there have been two chameleon characters, Nat and Flick, both of whom host the Bug-Off during the summer. Nat hosts the competition in Animal Crossing: City Folk and Animal Crossing: New Leaf, while his son Flick takes over this role in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
