Cheri (アセロラ, Acerola) is a peppy, cub villager from the Animal Crossing series, making an appearance only in Animal Crossing until her return in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Her name is based off the word "cherry," which defines her personality and her coloring. Her Japanese name, Acerola, is another name for the Barbados Cherry.

Like Punchy, she was not in Doubutsu no Mori, instead making her debut in Doubutsu no Mori+, making her and Punchy the only non-islander villagers to debut in Doubutsu no Mori+.

Appearance

Cheri is a cherry red colored bear with a white muzzle. She has a faint yellow coloring inside her ears. She has eyebrows that make her look like she is mad and has white tips on her paws. She may appear to be snooty at first glance. She also has darker red hair on her head, and her eyebrows are dark red as well. Cheri initially wears a Yellow Bar Shirt in Animal Crossing, a shirt striped yellow and white. In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, she initially wears a Sunflower Shirt.

As a peppy villager, Cheri has the tendency to over-react in conversations about trivial subjects such as appearing in competitions and the chance of her losing. This sometimes triggers her to ask for a certain item of clothing or furniture which she needs to enter a competition. She, like other peppy villagers, are rarely discouraged from doing anything, including the usual hobbies. She also has a short attention span, which means she soon forgets arguments or tasks given to the player that are incomplete. She may ask the player, "Sooo, how am I dressed today?" The player is presented with a slide-bar indicating Kinda slobby... and Super formal! Moving the bar close to Super formal! will make her happy.
