Cornimer is a tortoise with an acorn head who appears in Animal Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: New Leaf. In the former, Cornimer is a holiday-specific visitor in town and will exchange items for acorns. In the latter, he appears only in Animal Crossing: Puzzle League as the final boss. His face bares a resemblence to Jack.

Appearances

In Wild World

Cornimer comes out only during the Acorn Festival in Animal Crossing: Wild World, and gives players mushroom furniture, walls, and floors in exchange for acorns, which are obtained by looking under oak trees during the festival. However, if players give him a rotten acorn, he will say that all the other acorns the player gave him that time do not count. Much like Tortimer telling the player's fortune by using fireworks he can tell the player's fortune by using acorns, as shown below. He gives the player pieces of the mushroom series, each time wanting more acorns.

Cornimer may be Tortimer in disguise. During the Acorn Festival, Tortimer is not behind the desk in the Town Hall. The first time Cornimer laughs in his dialogue toward the player, he says, "Hef Horf Horf... Wait no! Good luck lil' Oakie!" The only difference between Tortimer and Cornimer is their heads. They both have the shell, cane, bow tie, and glasses. Their names even sound similar. Tortimer loves to prank the villagers and the player (on April 1st of Animal Crossing, he gives the player an unusable video game or a leaf).

In New Leaf

The roving machine that is whacked by players during the Hammer Time Island Tour appears to be Cornimer's head on top of a lawnmower.

Cornimer himself returns in the Welcome amiibo update for Animal Crossing: New Leaf, where he appears as the final boss in the story mode of Animal Crossing: Puzzle League. The character is once again strongly implied to be Tortimer in disguise, as Cornimer wears the same red aloha shirt and uses similar language to Tortimer. Unlike previous stages, there is only a single round versus Cornimer but the difficulty is significantly raised. After being defeated he will initially throw a tantrum, but then acknowledge the player's victory and congratulate them.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Cornimer is on an obtainable sticker. He is also mentioned in Tortimer’s trophy description.
