Empty lamp
At Animal Crossing: City Folk, the player can sometimes find an item that looks like a lamp in its town. The item is called Empty lamp and looks as though it would house a genie. If the player decides to pick up the lamp and venture into the southern area of his/her town after 9:00pm (following the shoreline seems to work). As the player is walking a dialog box will appear from someone named Wisp that will ask him/her to come closer. When the player gets closer to him he appears in his true form. He will explain that he has lost his lamp, that the lamp is usually where he lives, and will ask the player to find it for him because he is too afraid of open spaces to find it himself. Speak to him again with the lamp on your person (it will work whether you have just found it or if the player had it when him/her first spoke with Wisp) and he will ask the player go to your attic, a more comfortable environment for him, and rub his lamp there. When you rub the lamp he will grant the player a wish that you can choose from four categories: removing all weeds, clearing out cockroaches from your home, an item, or nothing at all. The item category has several sub-categories: furniture, clothing, accessory, or hat. If the player chooses nohing at all, the player will save the wish for later.
