January

New Year's Day

January 1st: New Year's Day is held in honor of the New Year. During this holiday the villagers will gather in front of the Wishing Well for the festivities. When you visit the Wishing Well between 6 A.M. and 11 A.M., Mayor Tortimer will give out advice for the new year and you receive a new diary from him as a present. Make sure you do not stay up too late partying the night before—this event only occurs in the early in the morning. Additionally, Katrina will have a table set up near the Wishing Well where you can play her "sunshine lottery" activity.Trying your luck at Katrina's table is the only time during the year where you can receive the Fortune Paper. In Animal Crossing: Wild World the firework show will display till 6 A.M. If you speak to Tortimer in the Town Plaza he will give you a Fortune. Additionally, a letter from your Mother which will contain 10,000 Bells will arrive in the post.

La-Di-Day

January (2nd Saturday with an Odd number only): La-Di-Day is an event the only occurs in Wild World. On this day, all villagers in your town will compete to get a new Town tune.

Fishing Tourney

January (3rd Sunday): The Fishing Tourney occurs in Wild World and Animal Crossing: City Folk. It takes place on the third Saturday of the month. Your required to compete with the other villagers. Your objective is to catch the largest fish.

Yay Day

January (4th Sunday): Yay Day occurs in Wild World. On Yay Day the villagers exchange compliments.Later on in the year they will recall the compliments. snooty and lazy villagers often have a better recollection; of the compliments.

Fishing Tourney

January (Third Saturday): In City Folk, Chip will host a fishing tourney for a specific fish. When you give him a fish to measure, he will eat that fish, regardless of whether it is the specific fish or not. The villager or player with the largest fish will receive the trophy.

Flea Market

January (Fourth Sunday): Every fourth Sunday the flea market will appear in City Folk. On this day the player can sell the items in their house for double what Tom Nook would pay them for. The player is also able to go into other villagers homes and purchase items.

February

Groundhog's Day

February 2nd: Much like the real holiday, the entire village will gather to see if the local groundhog will predict a longer winter or the awaited spring. At 7 A.M. the villagers will congregate around the Wishing Well. You are able to chat with the villagers till 8 A.M. when Mr. Resetti makes a cameo appearance as the "groundhog". If you talk to Tortimer about after the ceremony, he will give you one of the many flower models in honor of the occasion. To receive all of the flower models in the game you will have to attend this event more than once.

Fishing Tourney

February (on 3rd Saturday): This fishing tourney occurs City Folk, this fishing tourney is to catch the largest fish. During this fishing tourney any fish can be brought to Chip and can be used to win the tourney.

Valentine's Day

February 14th:Villagers in your town; will hint that they intend to send out chocolates to someone special. These hints are mentioned one or two weeks before the holiday. A Town Hall|bulletin board]] notice alerting you to clean out your mailbox; is posted by Pete. The pelican who delivers the mail.

All the animals in your town who are of the opposite sex will send you letters. Each of the three male or female personality types can write two different kinds of letters. Each sex is able to receive up to twelve valentines from their villagers. Each letter will contain a gift attached to it. What you receive as the gift; depends on your relationship the villager. It pays off to be nice and run errands for the villagers in the early part of February. you can receive either shirts or furniture.Shirts are given for so-so to poor relationships and furniture is given if you and the animal are good friends. The day after Valentine's Day, Pete will post on the bulletin board that he is done delivering valentines and wonders when he will start receiving any.

Flea Market

February (4th Sunday): The Flea Market occurs inCity Folk. The player is able to buy items from other villager's homes and are also able to sell their own items.

Festivale

February 9th 2016:This event occurs in City Folk. Pavé will visit the town. He can be found dancing outside of the Town Hall. If the player talks to him, he will request that a certain color of candy be brought to him. If you bring him the candy, you will receive an item from the Pavé series. This series of events can be played through until the player runs out of candy.

March

Spring Sports Fair

March 20th or 21st: The Spring Sports Fair has a number of different events that you can watch. You are able to cheer on your favorite villager as he or she engages in races, tug-of-war, or ball. If you show up early enough, you are able to participate in the first event, gymnastics. Utilizing the C stick will allow you to perform a variety of different tricks. If you track down the mayor during the sports fair he will give you the Spring Medal to commemorate the occasion. Winning isn't required to receive the medal.

April

April Fool's Day

April 1st: April Fool's Day is as treacherous in the Animal Crossing series as it is in real life. When you chat with the animals on this day, they will do their best to try to fool you with tall tales and a variety of pranks and tricks. Tortimer will gift you an item called "Super Tortimer", which he claims is a playable NES game. However the game is not playable.

On April 1st in City Folk, Tortimer will be out of the town hall and if you speak to him he will give you a leaf.

Cherry Blossom Festival

April 5th - 7th: During this span of three days your town undergoes an incredible change. Regardless of whether or not you have planted cherry trees in your town.All of the trees will burst into a pink bloom. The villagers in your town will become very excited about this transformation. If you visit the mayor he will explain more about the festival and its meaning to the town. After the explanation, Tortimer will give you the pink tree model.

Nature Day

April 22nd: Nature day is a happy-go-lucky event in honor of the greenery in your town. The mayor will give you adivce if you talk to him about nature. You will also receive the tree model from the mayor after speaking to him.

May

Spring Cleaning

May 1st: When May rolls around the villager's thoughts turn to cleaning their houses. This is the day to thoroughly clean your house and if you speak to Tortimer he will give you a model of the dump.

Mother's Day

May (2nd Sunday): Much like the holiday in real life, this day is to appreciate your mother. She makes cameos by sending you letters. In Doubutsu no Mori+, Doubutsu no Mori E+, and Animal Crossing: Population Growing, Tortimer reminds players to call their mother by handing out a Lovely Phone. In most Animal Crossing games, with the exception of AC:NL-WA and Happy Home Designer, the Lovely Phone is the only phone that can be activated to give players messages, which are random. In AC:NL-WA, the Lovely Phone's messages are not random and provide players with extremely useful information about which Daily Luck program is influencing their in-game experiences each day; it is a prize won from Redd's booth during the August Fireworks shows in AC:NL-WA.

June

Graduation Day

June (2nd Friday): Although this day is typically celebrated in real life when someone graduates school, the holiday in Animal Crossing is for generic graduations. On this day the villagers commemorate the hard work and progress you have made so far in the game. If you speak to the mayor, he will present you with the model of the Ables' Tailor Shop for your hard work.

Father's Day

June (3rd Sunday): Although your father is not as avid a writer as your mother, he will still write to you on this day. If you speak to Tortimer, who is the closest to a fatherly-type, he will give you the locomotive model.

Summer Fishing Tourney

June (Every Sunday):On Sundays in June; you will win furniture for catching the record breaking fish. The fishing tournament is hosted by Chip the beaver.You will receive a prize for every fish you turn into him. Your fish must break the previous record for that day. It is best to start with the smallest fish; in order to receive maximum prizes. If you plan to fish on the day of the tourney; it is best to wake up early. This strategy allows you to catch larger fish. Fish that you have caught before the tourney; can also be turned over for a prize. If you have the record at the end of the day; you will receive a second gift in the mail. Anytime during the Fishing Tourney, you can talk to the mayor to receive the angler trophy.

Summer solstice

June 21st: In New Leaf, Isabelle takes the day off and hangs out in the Plaza. The sun stays out very late on this day. If the player talks to Isabelle, they will receive Ladder Shades. In the Plaza there's also a cutout; featuring a sunflower and the sun.

Midsummer's Day

June 21st: This is a minor event that only appears in European copies of Animal Crossing: City Folk. The player can speak to Tortimer in the Plaza to obtain an Espresso Maker.

July

Fireworks Show

July 4th: Coinciding with American Independence day, the Animal Crossing series town will hold a fireworks show in the evening. To view the fireworks display, players must go to the lake between 7 P.M. and 9 P.M.. Crazy Redd will also set up a stand at the event. He sells a variety of pinwheels and balloons. When players find the mayor during the festivities, they will receive a bottle rocket from him.

Morning Aerobics

July 25th - August 31st: Morning Aerobics is an event that only occurs in Animal Crossing for the GameCube. When you speak to Tortimer you receive a special event card. Every morning during this time period Copper will conduct Morning Aerobics. Tortimer will reward you with a special aerobics radio after you get your event card; stamped at all fourteen Morning Aerobic sessions. The radio will enable you to preform the exercises in your house. Utilizing the C stick, you are able to preform the aerobic exercises.

Hometown Day

July (Random Day - Consult your calendar): Hometown Day is a fictional holiday meant to celebrate your town and its unique aspects. On this day Tortimer will give you a train station model. There are fifteen train stations models in the game. They represent the different stations you can possibly get, when you first start your town.

August

Fireworks Show

August (Every Saturday): This event occurs from 7 P.M. to Midnight in Wild World and City Folk. You are able to receive two items from your mayor on during this event. In New Leaf-Welcome Amiibo, it's every Sunday and there is a list of several items, including the very important Lovely Phone. In AC:NL-WA, the Lovely Phone's messages are not random and provide players with extremely useful information about which Daily Luck program is influencing their in-game experiences each day.

Meteor Shower

August 12th: If you go to the lake between 6 P.M. and 9 P.M. you are able to watch the meteor shower in the sky above the lake. When heading home, be sure to speak with the mayor so you can receive a telescope.

Founder's Day

August 21st: Founder's Day is in honor of the founder of your Animal Crossing. As per usual, Mayor Tortimer will bestow wise thoughts regarding the founding of your town. On this day you receive the weed model.

Morning Aerobics

August (All Month): The Morning Aerobics event started in July and continues to the end of this month.This event started in July and continues through the end of the month. For further information regarding the Morning Aerobics event, see the July section on this event.

September

Labor Day

September (1st Monday): Tortimer has been keeping an eye on your progress in the game. He will give you the shop model as a gift; if you speak to him during the day.

Harvest Moon Festival

September (Consult your calendar): The Harvest Moon Festival is an event that only occurs in Animal Crossing. This event can either occur in September of October depending on the year. If you go down to the lake during this day in the time period of 6 P.M. to 9 P.M.You can see the moon reflecting in the water. When you speak to the mayor he will gift you a large model of the moon.

October

Explorer's Day

October (2nd Monday): Explorer's Day is a play on the American holiday Columbus day. Explorer's Day celebrates the exploration of new lands and of a more personal nature. The mayor can be found at the Wishing Well on this day. He will give you a bottled ship if you speak to him before 6 P.M. Isabelle will give you a sailboat model; if you talk to her in the plaza.

Mushrooming Season

October 15th - 25th: Every day during Mushrooming Season, five mushrooms will appear at 8:00am. Every fifteen minutes after 8:00am a mushroom will disappear (as it has been found by a villager). You'll have to get up early and look hard if you want to beat the crowd. You can sell mushrooms to Tom Nook for 5,000 bells each.

Harvest Moon Festival

October (Consult your calendar): This event can occur in either September or October.

Halloween

October 31st: On Halloween the villagers in your town will dress up to look like Jack, the self-proclaimed Czar of Halloween. Each villager wears a blue shirt and a pumpkin on their head. Jack also appears in your town. To protect your candy from the villagers, hide pieces of it in your letter slots until you can locate the true "King of Halloween". Jack, unlike the villagers, will not run after you demanding candy. You must search around the town till you can find the villager who ignores you. If you approach Jack and give him a piece of candy, you will receive as piece of furniture from the Spooky Series. If you correctly identify the mayor he will give you a model of Katrina's Tent.

November

Mayor's Day

November (1st Tuesday): Mayor's Day is an event that occurs in Animal Crossing, it is a play on election day. Instead of voting, the mayor does his duty and rewards everyone who speaks to him. You will receive a Well model from the mayor on this day.

Officer's Day

November 11th: Officer's Day is an event that occurs in the GameCube version of Animal Crossing.November is a month for appreciating the public services in the town.Today celebrates Copper and Booker's various deeds to the town. If you speak to the mayor; you will receive a police station model.

Harvest Festival

November (4th Thursday): The Harvest Festival is the Animal Crossing series equivalent of the American holiday Thanksgiving. If you show up at the Wishing Well between 3 P.M. and 9 P.M. you can watch a "tasty" story unfold. Franklin the turkey realizes he is in trouble when the mayor invites him for dinner; or rather to be dinner. Franklin will hide behind things and wait for you to bring him pieces of silverware from the banquet by the well. Removing the silverware removes the threat of him becoming dinner. For each piece you bring you will receive one piece of harvest furniture. Make sure to talk to the mayor to receive a cornucopia item.

Sale Day

November (4th Friday): This event only occurs in Animal Crossing titles for the GameCube. Tom Nook will sell grab bags at his store instead of the normal items he sells. Each grab bag contains three items. The grab bags may contain pinwheels which can only be obtained on this day or during the Fireworks Show. Each grab bag is sold for a low price, but the deal varies. Crazy Redd will also set up shop selling various items. If you speak to the mayor he will give you the market model.

December

Snow Day

December 1st: Snow Storms occur in December. Snow will not stick to the ground until December tenth. If you speak to the mayor on this day he will give you a snowman model.

Winter solstice

December 21st: This event appears in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. The sun will never rise on this day, meaning total darkness for 24 hours. Isabelle will give the player a Glow Wand if spoken to.

Midwinter's Day

December 21st: Only appearing in European copies of Animal Crossing: City Folk, this is the opposite of Midsummer's Day. The player can speak to Tortimer in the Plaza to obtain an Snow Globe.

Toy Day

December 23rd: Today is a day where everyone receives toys. When you talk to the mayor before 6 P.M; you will receive either a miniature car or a doll. The toy is dependent on your gender.

Jingle Arrives

December 24th: Jingle the reindeer wanders around town from 8:00pm on December 24th to 1:00am on December 25th. If you track him down he will give you a piece of Jingle furniture. If you want more furniture you will have to change into a different outfit and talk to him again. You can only get a maximum of 10 pieces per town; regardless of how many characters you have. Once you have talked to Jingle five times in a row in one outfit, he will give you a piece of the Jingle Series. When finished head out of the acre and switch into a different shirt. Go find Jingle again and he will ask you questions; depending on how you reply you will get different furniture. Generally, a response of "Printed" or "Woven" will get you Wallpaper, Carpet, or a Shirt. You can get doubles so you can easily wind up with less than 10 unique pieces. Jingle furniture sells very well but it cannot be re-ordered at Nook's.

New Year's Eve

December 31st: Head down to the lake to see the big countdown clock count the minutes until the end of the year. Between 11:00pm and 1:00am there will be a fireworks display at the lake as well. Chat with the mayor to receive your very own noisemaker.

Special Events

Camping Season (Summer): Animals may visit your town during the summer months to camp out for a while. If you talk to them they may give you some camping gear.

Bridge Building (Random): The mayor may seek your input on a new bridge once your town contains fifteen villagers. There will be two locations to choose from.

Igloos (Winter): If there is snow on the ground one of the villagers may decide to live in an igloo for the day. Visit them to chat or play special winter games. If you spend enough time in the igloo, you may receive one of several special snowy gifts.

Lighthouse Watching (Winter): The mayor may ask you to light the lighthouse for him for a week during one of the first two months of the year; while he is on vacation. If you do it regularly you will receive chocolates and a lighthouse model when he returns.

Your Birthday: On your birthday you will receive presents in the mail from the other villagers. The quality of the presents will improve the better the quality of the relationships you have with your villagers. Your mom will also send you a special item: a birthday cake.
