January

New Year's Day

January 1st

Animal Crossing: New Year's Day is held in honor of the New Year. During this holiday the villagers will gather in front of the wishing well for the festivities. If the player visits the Wishing Well between 6 A.M. and 11 A.M., Mayor Tortimer will give out advice for the new year and will give out a new diary from him as a present. Additionally, Katrina will have a table set up near the Wishing Well where she will run the "sunshine lottery" activity. This is the only time the player will be able to receive the Fortune Paper.

Wild World: The firework show will be held until 6 A.M. If the player speaks to Tortimer in the Town Plaza he will give them a Fortune. Additionally, a letter from Mom, which will contain 10,000 Bells, will arrive in the post.

City Folk: Tortimer will give the player a New Year's Shirt. They will also get a letter from Mom with 1,000 Bells.

New Leaf: If the player talks to Isabelle, they will get a present based on the Chinese Zodiac of the current year. The player will also receive a present from Mom.

La-Di-Day

January (2nd Saturday)

Wild World: La-Di-Day is an event the only occurs in Wild World. On this day, all villagers in the town will compete in a competition for a new Town tune.

Fishing Tourney

New Horizons: The player will need to catch as many fish as they can before the three minute timer ends. They can pay CJ to do the challenge again and gain more points.

Bug-Off

January (3rd Saturday)

New Horizons (Southern Hemisphere): The player will need to catch as many bugs as they can before the three minute timer ends. They can pay Flick to do the challenge again and gain more points.

Fishing Tourney

Wild World, City Folk & New Leaf: The Fishing Tourney takes place on the third Saturday of the month. The player is required to compete with the other villagers to catch the largest fish.

Yay Day

January (4th Sunday)

Wild World: On Yay Day the villagers exchange compliments. Later on in the year they will recall the compliments. Snooty and lazy villagers often have a better recollection of the compliments.

Flea Market

City Folk: Every fourth Sunday the flea market will appear. On this day the player can sell the items in their house for more than what Tom Nook would pay them for. The player is also able to go into other villager's homes and purchase items.

February

Wild World: On the first Saturday of the month, the player will be able to go to other villager's houses and buy some of their items from them. The villagers may also go to the player's house and buy items from the player.

Groundhog's Day

February 2nd

Animal Crossing: Much like the real holiday, the entire village will gather to see if the local groundhog will predict a longer winter or the awaited spring. At 8 A.M., Mr. Resetti will make a cameo appearance as the "groundhog". If the player talks to Tortimer after the ceremony, he will give them one of the flower models in honor of the occasion.

City Folk: Tortimer will be standing in front of the town hall. If the player talks to Tortimer, he will give them a model of Mr. Resetti.

New Leaf: Isabelle can be found at the Event Plaza. If the player talks to her, she will give them a model of Mr. Resetti. There is also a cardboard cutout in the Plaza.

Bright Nights

February (Monday of the second week - following Sunday)

Wild World: The villager's houses will be decorated with lights, the player will get a chance to vote which villager's lights are the best. They can do so by talking to Tortimer in front of the Town Hall.

Fishing Tourney

February (on the 2nd Saturday)

City Folk & New Leaf: The fishing tourney takes place on the second Saturday of the month. The player is required to compete with the other villagers to catch the largest fish.

Valentine's Day

February 14th

Animal Crossing: Villagers of the opposite gender will send the player letters, and attached to those letters are gifts that vary based on the player's relationship with that villager.

City Folk: A week before Valentine's Day, the player will get the chance to send a letter to a villager of the opposite gender asking them to be their valentine. On Valentine's Day, that villager will send the player a Chocolate Heart. If the player doesn't send a letter, then they will get a box of chocolates from the villager they have the most friendship points with.

New Leaf: The player will receive some hot chocolate from Brewster, some chocolate or cake from the villagers, and a gift from Mom.

New Leaf: The player will have to collect different colored feathers for Pavé. The player can do so by either catching them with a net, or by playing games/trading with other villagers. The player can then bring these feathers to Pavé, and if they have collected the specific amount of feathers needed, Pavé will give them an item from the Pavé series.

Leap Day

February 29th

City Folk & New Leaf: Leap Day is a minor event in both games. A notice would be posted on the bulletin board about Leap Day and villagers may also talk about the event. In New Leaf Isabelle will announce that it is Leap Day.

March

Wild World: On the first Saturday of the month, the player will be able to go to other villager's houses and buy some of their items from them. The villagers may also go to the player's house and buy items from the player.

Weeding Day

March 2nd

Weeding Day occurs on this day only in the South Korean version of the game.

New Leaf: Weeding Day takes place on this day if the player's region is South Korea. On this day, Leif will tell the player how many weeds there are in their town. Once the player has picked up all of them, Leif will then give them an item from the Flower Set.

Girl's Festival

March 3rd

Girl's Festival is an event exclusive to the Japanese version of the games.

Animal Crossing: Tom Nook will sell Hinaningyous Dolls in his shop.

New Leaf: If the player talks to Isabelle in the plaza, she will give them a Rice Cake.

Festivale

February/March (2 days before Ash Wednesday)

Festivale may occur in either February or March depending on when Ash Wednesday is for that year.

Father's Day

March 19th

Father's Day occurs on this day, only in the European version of the game if the language is set as Spanish or Italian.

City Folk & New Leaf: Dad will send a letter in the mail with a red carnation attached.

Spring Sports Fair

March 20th — 21st

Animal Crossing: The Spring Sports Fair takes place around the Wishing Well. The player may take part in four different activities that happen throughout the day. Tortimer will also be there and if the player talks to him, they will receive the Spring Medal.

Bunny Day may occur in either March or April depending on when Easter is on that year.

City Folk: The player may find a total of thirty eggs hidden around the town. Some will contain Bunny Foil, the player may talk to Zipper T. Bunny to exchange these for an item from the Bunny Day Series.

New Leaf: The player may obtain six different types of eggs. Some of these will contain prize tickets which can be exchanged for an item from the Bunny Day Series by talking to Zipper T. Bunny. These eggs may also contain a grand prize ticket which can be exchanged for Zipper T. Bunny's picture.

New Horizons: The Bunny Day event lasts for two weeks before Bunny Day meaning the player can collect eggs for two weeks before Bunny Day. There are a total of six eggs the player may obtain which can be used to craft Bunny Day Series DIY which can be found in a variety of ways. If the player crafts all the items, Zipper T. Bunny will give them the DIY recipe for a Bunny Day Wand.

April

April Fool's Day

April 1st: Villagers will play a variety of pranks and tricks on the player. Tortimer will give out an item called "Super Tortimer", which he claims is a playable NES game. However the game is not playable.

On April 1st in City Folk, Tortimer will be out of the town hall and if the player speaks to him he will give them a leaf.

Cherry Blossom Festival

April 5th - 7th: Non-fruit trees will turn pink. If the player visits the mayor he will explain more about the festival and its meaning to the town. After the explanation, Tortimer will give them the pink tree model.

Nature Day

April 22nd: Tortimer will give the player advice about nature and a tree model when spoken to.

May

Spring Cleaning

May 1st: Tortimer will give the player a Dump Model, and the villagers may ask the player if they have been cleaning. Fish-themed kites hung on poles will also appear around town.

Mother's Day

May (2nd Sunday): In Animal Crossing and Doubutsu no Mori e+, Tortimer reminds players to call their mother by handing out a Lovely Phone. In most Animal Crossing games, with the exception of Welcome amiibo and Happy Home Designer, the Lovely Phone is the only phone that can be activated to give players messages, which are random. In Welcome amiibo, the Lovely Phone's messages are not random and provide players with information about which Daily Luck program is influencing their in-game experiences each day; it is a prize won from Redd's booth during the August Fireworks shows in Welcome amiibo.

June

Graduation Day

June (2nd Friday): On this day the villagers commemorate the hard work and progress the player has made so far in the game. If they speak to the mayor, he will present them with a model of the Able Sisters store.

Father's Day

June (3rd Sunday): Dad will write to the player. If the player speaks to Tortimer, he will give out a locomotive model.

Summer Fishing Tourney

June (Every Sunday): In Animal Crossing, the Fishing Tourney takes place every Sunday, and is hosted by Chip. The player is required to compete with the other villagers to catch the largest fish. Also, the player can talk to the mayor to receive the angler trophy.

Summer solstice

June 21st: In New Leaf, Isabelle takes the day off and hangs out in the Plaza. The sun stays out very late on this day. If the player talks to Isabelle, they will receive Ladder Shades. In the Plaza there is also a cutout; featuring a sunflower and the sun.

Midsummer's Day

June 21st: This is a minor event that only appears in European copies of Animal Crossing: City Folk. The player can speak to Tortimer in the Plaza to obtain an Espresso Maker.

July

Morning Aerobics

July 25th - August 31st: Morning Aerobics is an event that only occurs in Animal Crossing for the GameCube. When the player speaks to Tortimer they receive a special event card. Every morning during this time period Copper will conduct Morning Aerobics. Tortimer will reward the player with a special aerobics radio after they attend fourteen Morning Aerobic sessions. The radio will enable the player to preform the exercises in their house. Utilizing the C stick, they are able to preform the aerobic exercises.

July (Random Day - Consult your calendar): Hometown Day is a fictional holiday meant to celebrate your town and its unique aspects. On this day Tortimer will give you a train station model. There are fifteen train stations models in the game. They represent the different stations you can possibly get, when you first start your town.

Labor Day

September (1st Monday): Tortimer has been keeping an eye on your progress in the game. He will give you the shop model as a gift if you speak to him during the day.

Fall Sports Fair

September 23rd or 24th: The Fall Sports Fair has a number of different events that you can watch. You are able to cheer on your favorite villager as they engage in races, tug-of-war, or ball. If you show up early enough, you are able to participate in the first event. gymnastics. Utilizing the C stick will allow you to perform a variety of different tricks. If you track down the mayor during the sports fair he will give you the Spring Medal to commemorate the occasion.

October 15th - 25th: Every day during Mushrooming Season, five mushrooms will appear at 8:00am. Every fifteen minutes after 8:00am a mushroom will disappear (as it has been found by a villager). You'll have to get up early and look hard if you want to beat the crowd. You can sell mushrooms to Tom Nook for 5,000 Bells each.

Harvest Moon Festival

October (Consult your calendar): This event can occur in either September or October.

Halloween

October 31st: On Halloween the villagers in your town will dress up to look like Jack, the self-proclaimed Czar of Halloween. Each villager wears a blue shirt and a pumpkin on their head. Jack also appears in your town. To protect your candy from the villagers, hide pieces of it in your letter slots until you can locate the true "King of Halloween". Jack, unlike the villagers, will not run after you demanding candy. You must search around the town till you can find the villager who ignores you. If you approach Jack and give him a piece of candy, you will receive as piece of furniture from the Spooky Series. If you correctly identify the mayor he will give you a model of Katrina's Tent.

November

Mayor's Day

November (1st Tuesday): Mayor's Day is an event that occurs in Animal Crossing, it is a play on election day. Instead of voting, the mayor does his duty and rewards everyone who speaks to him. You will receive a Well model from the mayor on this day.

Officer's Day

November 11th: Officer's Day is an event that occurs in the GameCube version of Animal Crossing.November is a month for appreciating the public services in the town.Today celebrates Copper and Booker's various deeds to the town. If you speak to the mayor; you will receive a police station model.

Fall Fishing Tourney

November (Every Sunday): Chip the beaver will host a fishing tournament where you will win furniture for catching the record breaking fish. You will receive a prize for every fish you turn into him tat breaks the previous record for that day. It is best to start with the smallest fish in order to receive maximum prizes. If you plan to fish on the day of the tourney it is best to wake up early so that you can catch larger fish. Fish that you have caught before the tourney can also be turned over for a prize. If you have the record at the end of the day you will receive an additional gift in the mail. Anytime during this Fishing Tourney, you can talk to the mayor to receive the angler trophy.

November (4th Friday): This event only occurs in Animal Crossing titles for the GameCube. Tom Nook will sell grab bags at his store instead of the normal items he sells. Each grab bag contains three items. The grab bags may contain pinwheels which can only be obtained on this day or during the Fireworks Show. Each grab bag is sold for a low price, but the deal varies. Crazy Redd will also set up shop selling various items. If you speak to the mayor he will give you the market model.

December

Snow Day

December 1st: Snow Storms occur in December. Snow will not stick to the ground until December 10th. If you speak to the mayor on this day, he will give you a snowman model.

Winter solstice

December 21st: This event appears in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. The sun will never rise on this day, meaning total darkness for 24 hours. Isabelle will give the player a Glow Wand if spoken to.

Midwinter's Day

December 21st: Only appearing in European copies of Animal Crossing: City Folk, this is the opposite of Midsummer's Day. The player can speak to Tortimer in the Plaza to obtain an Snow Globe.

Toy Day

December 23rd: Today is a day where everyone receives toys. When you talk to the mayor before 6 P.M, you will receive either a miniature car or a doll. The toy is dependent on your gender.

Jingle Arrives

December 24th: Jingle the reindeer wanders around town from 8:00pm on December 24th to 1:00am on December 25th. If you track him down he will give you a piece of Jingle furniture. If you want more furniture you will have to change into a different outfit and talk to him again. You can only get a maximum of 10 pieces per town; regardless of how many characters you have. Once you have talked to Jingle five times in a row in one outfit, he will give you a piece of the Jingle Series. When finished head out of the acre and switch into a different shirt. Go find Jingle again and he will ask you questions; depending on how you reply you will get different furniture. Generally, a response of "Printed" or "Woven" will get you Wallpaper, Carpet, or a Shirt. You can get doubles so you can easily wind up with less than 10 unique pieces. Jingle furniture sells very well but it cannot be re-ordered at Nook's.

New Year's Eve

December 31st: Head down to the lake to see the big countdown clock count the minutes until the end of the year. Between 11:00pm and 1:00am there will be a fireworks display at the lake as well. Chat with the mayor to receive your very own noisemaker.

Special Events

Camping Season (Summer): Animals may visit your town during the summer months to camp out for a while. If you talk to them they may give you some camping gear.

Bridge Building (Random): The mayor may seek your input on a new bridge once your town contains fifteen villagers. There will be two locations to choose from.

Igloos (Winter): If there is snow on the ground one of the villagers may decide to live in an igloo for the day. Visit them to chat or play special winter games. If you spend enough time in the igloo, you may receive one of several special snowy gifts.

Lighthouse Watching (Winter): The mayor may ask you to light the lighthouse for him for a week during one of the first two months of the year while he is on vacation. If you do it regularly you will receive chocolates and a lighthouse model when he returns.

Your Birthday: On your birthday you will receive presents in the mail from the other villagers. The quality of the presents will improve the better the quality of the relationships you have with your villagers. Your mom will also send you a special item: a birthday cake.
