Explorer's Day is an event in Animal Crossing, Animal Crossing: City Folk, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Held on the second Monday of October, it is the Animal Crossing equivalent of Columbus Day, a holiday commemorating the landing of explorer Christopher Columbus in the New World on October 14th, 1492.

Animal Crossing

On Explorer's Day, Tortimer can be found outside of the Town Hall. If the player speaks to him, they will receive a Bottled Ship.

City Folk

When players speak to Tortimer, they receive a Sailboat Model.

New Leaf

Sign in Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Isabelle can be found hosting the event at the Plaza. Like previous games, the player will be granted a Sailboat Model. A cutout is available for players to pose and take screenshots in.
