In September / March, (specifically the 8th in short) trees will begin to turn from bright green to a dull, musky green. In October / April (the 17th in short), trees will then turn a bright orange/brown color. Grass follows the same color pattern as trees. By the end of the season, the ground, trees, and clover all change to a dull brown color. Dandelions will disappear until next summer.

Insects and rarer fish start to disappear, being replaced with cheaper fish and insects such as the Pike and Monarch butterfly, making autumn one of the more quiet seasons in the series, rivaled by winter.

Weather
Clear, Rain

Fall (or autumn) in the Animal Crossing series is a season that starts on September 1 and ends on November 25. In the Southern Hemisphere in New Horizons, fall starts on March 1 and ends on May 25.

Fall consists of a mixture of clear, sunny days and some patches of rain. By November 26 / May 26, snow will begin to fall, marking the beginning of winter. In New Leaf, thunderstorms will dissipate around September, giving way for regular rain.

In September / March, (specifically the 8th in New Leaf) trees will begin to turn from bright green to a dull, musky green. In October / April (the 17th in New Leaf), trees will then turn a bright orange/brown color. Grass follows the same color pattern as trees. By the end of the season, the ground, trees, and clover all change to a dull brown color. Dandelions will disappear until next summer.

Insects and rarer fish start to disappear, being replaced with cheaper fish and insects such as the Pike and Monarch butterfly, making fall one of the more quiet seasons in the series, rivaled by winter.

In New Horizons, Hardwood and Cedar Trees will produce Acorns and Pine Cones respectively, and from a short period from November 16 / May 16 to November 25 / May 25 Maple Leaf will clutter the sky for players to catch with a net. Alongside the existing mushrooms from previous games in the Animal Crossing series, they are all used in DIY recipes.
