Goldie (キャラメル, Kyarameru, Caramel) is a normal villager from the Animal Crossing series, appearing in every game in the Animal Crossing up to date. Her name is based on the breed of dog she is, a Golden Retriever. Her catchphrase is a popular way to interpret the sound dogs make. She is the only character in Wild World to mention another video game in her picture quote.

Appearance

Goldie is a golden dog that looks like a golden retriever with a few darker patches of beige on her muzzle, paws, feet, tail, and ears. She also has a beige spot on her left eye, of which her eyes are a slim, oblong shape colored into a chocolate brown with cream pupils. She appears to wear a Dapper Shirt when she first moves into the town ever since Animal Crossing: City Folk. Her quote which mentions a Labrador may also contribute to the idea of her being a Labrador. Her name comes from the dog species, "golden retriever" by taking the name "golden" and turning it into a name, "Goldie".

Personality

Goldie has a normal personality. As a villager with the normal personality, she will be friendly and motherly towards the player. She will also enjoy the usual hobbies. When she asks the player for favors, she often feels bad asking the player to do so. She will easily get sad or even mad. She will get along with most villagers, except those who are cranky, and sometimes even snooty. Most normal villagers take a moderate amount of time to befriend, and the player must be patient in attempting to receive her picture. If you attatch your town's native fruit to one of your letters, she may send back a non-native fruit. You may do this with most villagers. If you send her lots of letters with different gifts, she will stay in your town and not move away for a longer amount of time. This will also help you befriend her enough to obtain her picture in Animal Crossing: Wild World. She wakes up at 5 AM like other normal villagers, and goes to sleep at 1:00 am. At a point she will want to collect clothing, so she will ask the player to try and find a certain piece of clothing, as some villagers do the same. You may also receive her picture if you do this many times.
