A hacked villager is a villager who has been modified through hacking. There are several tools used to hack villagers and change many aspects including the following:

In Doubutsu no Mori e+, Custom Villager Creator can be used to create or edit e-reader+ villagers. In Animal Crossing: Wild World, an Action Replay can be used to hack villagers. In Animal Crossing: City Folk, the tool used is known as Animal Villager Customization (NPC Tool)
