In {{PG}}, fully paying off the home loan results in a statue of the player being placed outside the [[train station]]. The statue changes size and color based on the order each of the four players in the town pay it off: the first player to pay off their home loan receives a golden statue, the second player a silver statue, the third player a bronze statue, and the fourth player a jade statue. Additionally, in {{DnMe+}} fully paying of the player's home loan gives them access to [[Animal Island]].

A player after fully paying off their home loan in New Horizons

A home loan, also known as a debt or mortgage, is an amount of Bells that is required to pay off in order to purchase or expand a player's home. After the player pays off the loan once, their home will be expanded again and they will be given a new loan. Once the house is fully expanded, the player will usually get a reward for paying off the final loan.

Appearances

In Doubutsu no Mori

In Doubutsu no Mori, Animal Crossing, and Doubutsu no Mori e+, the home loan can be paid off by speaking to Pelly or Phyllis at the post office. Additionally, in all three games, the player cannot deposit their Bells into their savings until their home loan is fully paid off.
