"Well, at least it was a big one."
— Hopper, 🎬 Gekijōban Doubutsu no Mori

Template:Infobox villager Hopper (ダルマン, Dalman) is a cranky villager in the Animal Crossing series . He is a crested penguin, who is named after the Rockhopper penguin, but design is based off a Macaroni Penguin. He also appeared in 🎬 Gekijōban Doubutsu no Mori. Hopper is also the only penguin with a cranky personality.

Appearance

Hopper is a black and white crested penguin, with a yellow beak and long, straw-like eyebrows which give him an angry look at default. You will often see him with a fishing pole. His red eyes may turn black when he is angry.

Personality

Below is a brief description of the cranky personality. For more information, click here.

As a cranky villager, Hopper will appear mature compared to other personality types. This will make him appear belittling and insensitive to other villagers, including the player. Despite this, he will learn to confide in the player, considering them his only friend. He will enjoy the usual hobbies, but for relaxation and peace than competition. He will find it difficult to socialize with peppy villagers, who he will criticize when talking to other villagers. He will get along with normal and snooty villagers, as well as other cranky villagers, who he will share deeper conversations with. He will, on occasion, annoy a normal villager, usually when being mean about something or someone.

House

In Animal Crossing: Wild World, he has Cabin Furniture. He will also have Lucky K.K. playing on a radio if he has one. In Animal Crossing: City Folk, he has Cabin Furniture in his house. There are a couple of totem poles in his house too. He still listens to Lucky K.K.

Nothing is in here!

Unlike other characters in the film, he was not a main character. Instead, he was the film's comic relief (appearing in the foreground/background throughout a film, not knowing a character's background information). He is seen fishing all year round in the same spot, near the bridge by the river. He seems to always get distracted by loud noises which scare the fish.

Notice: Spoilers end here.

Merchandise

Like other film characters, he was recreated as merchandise. Below are some examples:
