"Imperial K.K." is a song played by K.K. Slider at The Roost on Saturdays. It is based on the traditional Chinese music, and derives its name from China's history as an imperial state prior to the downfall of the Qing dynasty in 1912. It has a gong, a few Asian gamelans, lutes, horns, and other Asian percussion. Pekoe appears on the cover holding a fan and wearing what is possibly a cheongsam. Alfonso (only in Animal Crossing), Bill (beginning as of Animal Crossing: New Horizons) Chester, Chow (beginning as of New Horizons), Cousteau, Drago, Jūbei, Pekoe, Pinky and Tammi (beginning as of Animal Crossing: New Leaf) all play this song in their homes.

Trivia

  • According to Kazumi Totaka, Imperial K.K. was composed based on the fact that Chinese culture is often misunderstood by western people. With this in mind, the team also added the idea that the person himself who is bothered by this misunderstanding does not notice they are being misunderstood.
