As its name implies, it connects the higher and lower parts of town. It is a vertical piece of land, usually covered in grass. They lead to a higher part of land. They cause sport balls and snowballs to roll down, making it difficult to roll uphill. In Animal Crossing: Wild World, the towns are smaller, so there is only one level, hence no cliffs or ramps.
