The Island Designer Construction Permit is a permit that appears in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, this allows the player to fully customize their deserted island however they want.

After receiving a permit and selecting the Island Designer on the NookPhone, the player will wear a white construction hat with a leaf icon and a backpack to customize their island. The player can place pathways and make them curve, they can also switch to Cliff-Construction Permit to add or remove cliffs or Waterscaping Permit to add or remove water areas, this also allows the player to create waterfalls on cliffs.The Cliff-Construction and Waterscaping Permits are unlocked separately for a price of 6,000 Nook Miles each.

Paths

After the player has achieved a 3-Star rating on their island, and had the concert with K.K. Slider take place, Tom Nook will give the player the Island Designer app. The app comes with 2 default functions; Tools for path making, and an option to clear items around you and move them to the recycle box in Resident Services. The pathing tool comes with grass and dirt paths, with more styles like brick and stone available in exchange for Nook Miles.

Cliff-Construction Permit

After unlocking the Island Designer app, if the player heads over to the Nook Stop, they will be able to exchange 6,000 Nook Miles for a Cliff-Construction Permit.

Waterscaping Permit

After unlocking the Island Designer app, if the player heads over to the Nook Stop, they will be able to exchange 6,000 Nook Miles for a Waterscaping Permit.
