The acoustic guitar can be obtained from crafting, which requires 8× softwood and 3× iron nugget. The recipe for this item can be obtained from smug villagers, either when they are crafting in their house, or when the player receives their message bottle from the beach. The item's color can be customized either by using 5 customization kits or by Cyrus at Harv's Island for  3,800 Bells.

This item appears as a furniture item in the homes of Amelia, Curlos, Prince, and Weber. As a result, this item has a chance to be purchasable by the player if they were invited by any of the preceding villagers.

In Happy Home Paradise, this item is unlocked for use in designing when doing a vacation home request for Astrid, Becky, Bella, Boone, Faith, Fauna, Flo, Gayle, Julia, Katt, Leopold, Portia, Quillson, Shep, Soleil, Tex, Vesta, and Weber.

In the designing process of Happy Home Paradise, Julia and Shep require this item to be placed in or outside their vacation home.
