The blue balloon is a tool item in Animal Crossing: New Horizons introduced in the 1.4.0 Summer Update (Wave 2). When used, the player will pull down on the blue balloon. If the player runs while holding the blue balloon, the player will trip and lose their balloon. The player will also lose the balloon if they were afflicted with bad health luck or are wearing a King Tut mask and they trip while holding the balloon.

The blue balloon can be obtained from Nook's Cranny for 600 Bells or at random from Redd's Raffle during a Fireworks Show for 500 Bells.

In Happy Home Paradise, this item is unlocked for use in designing when doing a vacation home request for Dizzy, Hopkins, Kody, Moe, Sherb, and Zucker.
