The blue kotatsu (あおいこたつ aoi kotatsu?) is a furniture item in Doubutsu no Mori, Doubutsu no Mori+, and Doubutsu no Mori e+. Its surface functions as a tabletop, allowing smaller items to be placed on top of it. It is replaced by the brazier in Dòngwù Sēnlín.

The blue kotatsu can be obtained from Tom Nook's store for  1,600 Bells.[nb 2] It does not have any color for the purpose of fêng shui.

In Doubutsu no Mori, this item appears in the homes of Betty, Derwin, Dora, Lucky, and Prince.

Leftover dummy item

The dummy model used by unused items in Animal Crossing.

In Animal Crossing, the is still leftover in the game data as a dummy item, unobtainable without gameplay modification or glitches. It has the unused name "blue kotatsu" and uses the dummy model, a white triangle with red Japanese text reading ダミー (damī, dummy). Its name was also translated to other languages in the European version of Animal Crossing, with the name "kotatsu azul" in Spanish, "kotatsu bleu" in French, "Heiztisch blau" in German, and "kotatsu blu" in Italian.
