The Colorful Shovel is a tool item in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. As a shovel, the player can dig holes, fill holes, and bury or plant items. The player will use this item for 100 times whenever the player digs up a fossil, plant, or buried item, hits a rock for items (the item will break once the rock produces no more items) or after eating a food item, digs up a tree or breaks a rock. The Colorful Shovel cannot be used on any players' islands unless they are marked as a Best Friend.

The Colorful Shovel can be obtained from the upgraded Nook's Cranny for 2,500 Bells. The item's color can be customized either by using 1 Customization Kit or by Cyrus at Harv's Island for 1,000 Bells.

In Happy Home Paradise, this item is unlocked for use in designing when doing a vacation home request for Bianca.
