A buried item spurting water from the sand. Possibly a Manila Clam.
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the Manila clam is a sea creature that can be dug up on the beach with a shovel. It appears as a small dark spot that will spurt water then disappear in a cycle. The first time the player retrieves one, they will learn a recipe to make Fish Bait.
The player is rewarded for finding the clams via the Clam and Collected Nook Miles goals.
