It can be placed on the surface of tables and other similar furniture that have surfaces for items. If this item is placed on the ground however, it is penalized by the Happy Home Academy by 1 point per each item. Interacting with this item allows the player to play Desert Island Escape.

The Wii U console can be obtained from redeeming fortune #51 (White variation) or fortune #52 (Black variation) to either Timmy or Tommy at their store after eating a fortune cookie. It can also be obtained from the RVs of Isabelle, Rover, Tom Nook, Blathers, K.K., Mabel, Reese, Cyrus, Celeste, Tommy, Resetti, Kapp'n, Digby, Kicks, Wisp, Lottie, and Hopkins for  3 MEOW Coupons. The item's coloring can be customized by Cyrus for  3,240 Bells.

This item appears as a furniture item in the homes of Hopkins. As a result, this item can be purchased by the player if they were invited by any of the preceding villagers. This item also appears in the RVs of Hopkins and Wisp.
