Jambette is a normal, frog villager in the Animal Crossing series, appearing in nearly every game except for Animal Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. As a normal villager, she will appear hospitable towards the player and be easy to befriend. Jambette is a French name meaning "leggy," a reference to the stereotype that the French love to eat frog legs. Despite her name, Jambette's most recognizable feature is her bright pink lipstick, which gives the impression that she is a snooty villager instead of a normal villager. Her Japanese name, Esmeralda, means "emerald", referring to her green color. Her initial catchphrase is a play on words, combining the words "croak" and "okay."

Jambette is a normal villager, so she will be open to all different personalities, meaning she will get along with most villagers. However, when talking with lazy villagers, the lazy villager might lead onto her making them dinner.

In City Folk, she has two Classic sofas, three plants, a fireplace, and a phonograph playing "K.K. Country."

In New Leaf, her house is very similar to her house in City Folk, with the main difference being that she has more items from the Classic Series. She now has a Classic Sofa, a Classic Vanity, and a Classic Buffet with an Aroma Pot placed on top of it. She retains her three plants, and her Phonograph, which still plays K.K. Country. Her wallpaper and flooring remain unchanged, still being the Lattice Wall and Mosaic Tile respectively.
