"K.K. Marathon" is a K.K. Slider song. Its main instruments are an electric music box, a vibraphone, and a drum, in emulation of Indonesian gamelan music. Specifically, it is inspired by Balinese gamelan techniques, such as the face-paced kotekan texture in the second half of the aircheck. On the cover art, Midge and Maple dance in the foreground as K.K. Slider and Moe play a pair of Balinese gangsa in the background. However, the original e-Reader card art features Madam Rosa and Carrot respectively in each dancer's place.
Deli (in New Leaf), Margie, Sprinkle (both in New Horizons) and Tia (in New Leaf) play this song in their houses if they have a stereo.
