The date of the event varies depending on the region; it occurs on the first Monday of September in international releases and on November 23 in Japan.

In Animal Crossing, Labor Day occurs on November 23 in the original Japanese version, on the first Monday of September in the North American version, Australian version, and Doubutsu no Mori e+, and on May 1 in the European version. During the event, Tortimer will appear near the wishing well and will give the player a Shop Model if spoken to.
In City Folk
In North American towns in Animal Crossing: City Folk, Tortimer will appear outside Town Hall on Labor Day and will give the player a Picnic Basket if spoken to.
In New Leaf
