Leopold is a lion villager in the Animal Crossing series. He debuted with a jock personality in Doubutsu no Mori, but this would later be changed to the smug personality in Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo. His name is probably a reference to the lion's scientific name, Panthera leo. His name may also be a reference to the King of Belgium, Leopold II, or the Roman Emperor, Leopold I. This may also refer to his species, a lion, who are called "Kings of the Jungle," and often referred to as "Kings."

According to his e-card bio, Leopold aspires to be a teacher, a reference to his Japanese name, and exercises both physically and mentally.

Characteristics

Appearance

Leopold DnM.png

Leopold is a lion with a beige "ecru" color to his fur, and a lighter beige color to his muzzle. He has a green mane, which looks like long green hair, and wears glasses. His initial clothing is the Noble Shirt. The tips of his paws are a dark brown, as well as his tail.

Personality

Originally, Leopold had the jock personality. After his return in Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo, however, he instead is given the smug personality.

In Animal Crossing

Below is a brief description of the jock personality. For more information, click here.

In Animal Crossing, Leopold has a jock personality, which means he will have a keen interest in talking about sports and fitness, making him appear competitive and in some cases rude when talking to other villagers and the player in a critical manner. He will appear slow-witted and absent-minded when in deep, meaningful discussions which may leave him confused and upset when talking to other villagers. He will get along well with peppy villagers, but get confused by the choice of lifestyle followed by lazy villagers, who appear opposite to the jock personality. He may offend and upset snooty and cranky villagers, by questioning their physical fitness and age, but he will get along with normal villagers, but may, on the rare occasion, anger them.

In Welcome amiibo

Below is a brief description of the smug personality. For more information, click here.

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo, Leopold has a smug personality, essentially the male equivalent of the snooty personality. He is very kind-hearted, and he will act very polite and sometimes gentleman-like, though he also acts arrogant and conceited as a result of his upclass lifestyles. He will easily get along with villagers of any personality, but will come into conflict with cranky villagers, who will claim that Leopold is "mucking around". He will sometimes flirt with the player, regardless of gender.

House

In Animal Crossing, Leopold's house has items from the Exotic Series, along with a stereo that plays K.K. Western. In Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo, Leopold's house is modeled after a school room, a possible reference to his Japanese name, "Teacher".

RV

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo, Leopold's RV is themed to a school room, similar to his house. It contains a Basic Teacher's Desk that has the Strapped Books placed on top of it. These face a Lecture-Hall Bench with a customised Zen Backpack placed on top of it, and are located adjacent to a Lecture-Hall Bench. On the northern side of the room is a Towel Rack and a School Locker, the latter of which has the Book Stands placed on top of it. His wallpaper is the Classroom Wall, and his flooring is the Classroom Floor.
