Lions are a species of villager in the Animal Crossing series. They are one of three types of large cat that appear in the franchise. They have small ears set high on their heads, broad rectangular noses, and also possess tufts of fur at the end of their tails, similar to the elephants, rhinos, and bovines. So far, all lion villagers are male and all of them possess manes.
There are nine lion villagers so far. There are four jock lions, two cranky lions, one lazy lion, and two smug lions, one of whom, Leopold, was previously a jock. Out of all the lions, only Aziz and Jubea have not reappeared since Doubutsu no Mori e+.

Trivia
- Since Bud, who debuted in Doubutsu no Mori+, was the only lion to appear in Animal Crossing: Wild World, this makes lions one of two villager species in Animal Crossing: Wild World to not have any villagers returning from Doubutsu no Mori. The other species with this distinction is the Bull.
