Lottie is a special character who made her first appearance in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer. She was announced at Electronic Entertainment Expo 2015 and serves as a guide for players as they design homes. She is a pink river otter[2] and Lyle's niece.[3]
She appears later in Animal Crossing: New Leaf via an update, alongside amiibo compatibility and new villagers. [4] She gives the player a tutorial on how to arrange furniture with touch screen controls.
In Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, Lottie hosts the Gothic Rose Festival event. This is similar to the Rover's Garden Safari event, except the player must catch bats and plant Gothic roses. Lottie is later given a larger role in this game as the host of Happy Homeroom, an area similar in design to Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer.
Appearances
Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer
Lottie is the receptionist in Nooks Homes in this game. She also helps train the player and talks them through the process of preparing a villager's house, before arriving at the site, like letting the player choose a site and a layout. Lottie also can help the player log onto Happy Home Network and change the settings for the network. Lottie is seen every day at her desk, typing. Talking to her normally results in suggestions to drum up business; however, rarely, she can be seen without mascara and she talks about that instead.
Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo
Although she is absent in the original release of New Leaf, Lottie reappears in the Welcome amiibo update, showing the player how to use the bottom screen to move furniture after building the Secret Storage extension. She can also be seen after successfully connecting Happy Home Designer data to New Leaf: Welcome Amiibo, invited by Isabelle, and posts the player the Nook's Homes model.
