Marcel is a lazy dog villager in the Animal Crossing series. He first appeared in Animal Crossing: City Folk and has appeared in all subsequent games except Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.

In New Horizons, Marcel has the play hobby and will be more frequently seen running around the island, sometimes with other villagers.

Marcel has dark green fur with a painted white face, which resembles a mime's makeup or a festival mask. He has an orange nose with red whiskers.

Marcel is a lazy villager, meaning he enjoys sleeping, eating, and leading a laid-back lifestyle. Despite this, Marcel also enjoys the usual hobbies and will get along with the player well. Additionally, he will get along with normal, peppy, and cranky villagers, the latter of which admire the laid-back life, but will also offend jock villagers, due to conflicting lifestyles; and snooty villagers, due to him not caring about himself appearance-wise.
