"Marine Song 2001" (ふなうた2001, Boat Song 2001) is a Japanese tune and one of K.K. Slider's songs. Ankha, Coach, Scoot, and Mott have this song playing in their houses. It also plays on Kapp'n's taxi in Animal Crossing: Wild World, his bus in Animal Crossing: City Folk and in his RV in Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo. The tune brings to the mind a picture of a quaint, simple Japanese village, or farm, or maybe it reminds the player of a walk through a Japanese countryside, with cherry blossoms falling like pink rain. More specifically, it is based on the tune Kapp'n sings in the original Japanese version of Animal Crossing, which was altered in all localized versions. The number "2001" in the game's title alludes to the year Doubutsu no Mori was released.
