May Day is an event in Animal Crossing: New Horizons held from May 1st to May 7th. During the event, the player needs to speak to Tom Nook in Resident Services. He will explain what May Day celebrates and will inform the player about a special May Day Tour, similar to a Mystery Island Tour. He will give the player a special May Day ticket that is available at the Airport.

The player arrives with an empty inventory to an island which mostly contains a maze made of hedges. They will need to pick up tools, fruits, and materials in order to remove rocks, trees, and bushes to get to the goal where Rover is resting. The player can also jump straight across small river blocks using the left stick.

When the goal is reached, Rover will congratulate the player and give them the miscellaneous furniture item Rover's Briefcase as a prize. Four Bell vouchers can be obtained in the northeast corner of the island, accessible after reaching the goal. If the player strategically used the fruit found on the island, they will be able to use the leftover fruit to access five additional Bell vouchers located in the southwest corner of the island. The player might not be able to reach these vouchers during their first try; using the Rescue Service will reset the island and clear the player's inventory - including any Bell vouchers, but excluding the prize, should the player have collected it - for the usual price of 100 Nook Miles.

Items collected on this tour can not be brought back home with the exception of the prize and Bell vouchers. Those will be mailed to the player by Dodo Airlines immediately. The island cannot be revisited after leaving.
