Nook Inc.

Nook Inc. (Japanese: たぬき開発, Tanuki Development) is a real estate development company which first appears in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, apparently as the successor business to Nook's Homes from New Leaf. In New Horizons, Tom Nook states that he is the founder and president of Nook Inc.

In New Horizons, Nook Inc. offers the Deserted Island Getaway Package to the player and villagers. As the island is settled, the company manages the island through its operation of Resident Services. Nook Inc. is also the sole provider of construction and renovation services for houses, other buildings and infrastructure on the island.

In addition to real estate development, Nook Inc. or its related companies appear to be involved in several other products and services that island residents can or must use, including personal electronics (the NookPhone), electronic commerce (Nook Shopping), activity rewards (Nook Miles), financial services (Bank of Nook savings accounts), and merchandise.

Although the island eventually gains a general store named Nook's Cranny – sharing a name with one of the stores run by Tom Nook in earlier games – this version of the store is established and run by Tom's apprentices Timmy and Tommy. Nook Inc.'s ongoing role with the store once established, if any, is not stated.
