Nookington's is the fourth and final incarnation of Tom Nook's store. It first appears in Doubutsu no Mori and appears in all subsequent games up to and including Animal Crossing: City Folk. It is a multi-story department store, featuring more items than its predecessor, Nookway. This store introduces Timmy and Tommy, who work on the second floor. The first floor of Nookington's sells miscellaneous items, while the second floor sells housewares.

Appearances

In Animal Crossing

The first floor of Nookington's in Animal Crossing

In Animal Crossing, Nookington's opens after the player buys or sells 240,000 Bells-worth of items at Nookway and a player from another town has bought or sold at least one item. It is open from 9 AM to 10 PM. The first floor sells nineteen items, including two Saplings, one Cedar Sapling, five flower bags, four sets of stationery, three tools, one paint can, and one Sign Board. The second floor sells seventeen items, including six pieces of furniture, three wallpapers, three carpets, and five clothing items.

In Wild World

In Animal Crossing: Wild World, Nookington's opens after the player buys or sells 240,000 Bells-worth of items at Nookway and a player from another town has bought or sold at least one item.[nb 4] It is open from 8 AM to 11 PM. The first floor sells twenty-three items, including two Saplings, one Cedar Sapling, seven flower bags, five sets of stationery, six tools, one Medicine, and one Note in a Bottle. The second floor sells fifteen items, including eight pieces of furniture, three wallpapers, three carpets, and one paint can.

Once the player receives a total of 20,000 points from the Tom Nook Point System, they will be mailed a Nookington's.

In Wild World only, Nookington's has a third floor, which contains Shampoodle.

In City Folk

The second floor of Nookington's in Animal Crossing: City Folk

In Animal Crossing: City Folk, Nookington's opens after the player buys or sells 150,000 Bells-worth of items at Nookway. It is open from 9 AM to 9 PM, the shortest hours of any of Tom Nook's stores. The first floor sells twenty-one items, including three saplings,[nb 5] seven flower bags, four sets of stationery, six tools,[nb 6] and one Medicine. The second floor sells thirteen items, including six pieces of furniture, three wallpapers, three carpets, and one paint can.

Thirty days after Nookington's opens, Tom Nook will ask the player what they look for in their shopping experience. Depending on their answer, the store will either close a week later and reopen as Nook 'n' Go or Nookway, or remain as Nookington's. If the player chooses "Variety", the store will remain as Nookington's, if they choose "Balance", it will reopen as Nookway, and if they choose "Good hours", it will reopen as Nook 'n' Go.

Once the player receives a total of 20,000 points from the Tom Nook Point System, they will be mailed a Nookington's.

Nookington's returns to having two floors in City Folk, as Shampoodle is now located in its own building in the city.
