Nookipedia:Featured Articles

From Nookipedia, the Animal Crossing wiki

Nookipedia has a system in place to recognize some of the best articles ever created.

A list of all articles that have been featured can be found here. You can recognize featured articles by the featured badge that appears to the right of the article title, and above the article content.

The random feature article system is not dependent on the Featured Article status and is done manually. If you notice a flaw in the system or want to make a suggestion, stick it on a talk page of an active bureaucrat.

Only staff members can award the featured badge to an article, but members may nominate articles to be featured by sending a private message to an active administrator, preferably Jake, on the Discord server. An official method of recommending featured articles is currently in development, below.

Featured articles are top-quality articles presented in the main page. They are chosen by our editors. If an article meets or exceeds Nookipedia's featured article quality standards, it can be nominated to be featured. Here are the standards articles must meed or exceed to be considered featured.

The article must...
  1. well-written, standard, and encyclopedic. This means there is good grammar, proper spelling, no bias, and no opinions,.
  2. ...cover information from all appearances in the Animal Crossing series. Otherwise, the information must be complete.
  3. free from all improvement tags (such as {{construction}}, {{cleanup}})
  4. ...contain a reasonable amount of good-quality images.
  5. ...have a minimal amount of red links.
  6. ...have a long enough lead paragraph to present in the main page.
  7. ...have a reasonable length.
  8. ...adhere to any article-related policies

Nomination process

As long as editors are autoconfirmed, they can nominate articles to be featured by submitting a nomination in the section below. The voting process works similarly to voting on featured images; registered users may use the templates above to vote or make comments. Once they have voted, they must sign their comments with ~~~~.

Nominations will be held open for at least a week for users to vote - at the end of the voting period, a Administrator, Bureaucrat, or Director will determine the result and close the vote, and will feature the article if the nomination passes. Votes that are inadequately supported or irrelevant may not be included for the sake of consensus.

Once the article is featured, a {{feature}} badge is placed on the top of the article.

Articles can also be removed from their featured status if there is a major flaw or if the article does not maintain changing standards. Staff members also reserve the right to remove any nominations that are made in bad faith or poorly justified.

A list of featured articles can be found here.

I think the page for Gabi, the peppy rabbit, is our highest quality page on any villager, and has more and current info then the other villagers with featured articles. ZCJigglypuff(Talk) 20:01, October 15, 2016 (EDT)

Comment I noticed a broken file link on the article. If you could fix that (and maybe add some house information for New Leaf), I'd be willing to support. Red (talk)  13:10, October 16, 2016 (EDT)
Comment I just added NL house info, but I don't know where to get a good quality image of Gabi's client image from Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (The broken file link Red was referring to). Apart from that, everything else looks good I think. ZCJigglypuff(Talk) 03:13, October 18, 2016 (EDT)
Comment I think any problems this page had (including the broken file link) have been fixed, so if everything looks good to everyone else, I think this page is ready to be a featured article now. ZCJigglypuff(Talk) 05:20, January 7, 2017 (EST)
Support Due to the fixed problems and general completeness of the article, I now most definitely will support this nomination. Drago (talk)   11:10, January 7, 2017 (EST)

Comment Missing an image? Particularly, the Wild World picture frame with her in it.   00:46, January 8, 2017 (EST)

Comment We don't have any pictures of the WW villager pics on here or any other source, and Project Villager states that WW villager pics aren't necessary. Additionally, none of the other villager pages that are featured articles have them either. ZCJigglypuff(Talk) 00:44, January 9, 2017 (EST)

Comment I think this nomination should be closed, it has been going on for nearly a year.   Princess Peach   08:01, September 28, 2017 (EDT)

Comment We only have one vote on this nomination. Are you sure you don't want to give your opinion before I close it? Drago (talk)   12:43, September 28, 2017 (EDT)
Support I know this is a little late (One year too late) but having recently given the page a major overhaul, I truly believe it is worthy of being a featured article. -- LoneShadowStar (talk)

Looking over the page of Julia, the snooty ostrich islander from Doubutsu no Mori e+, I believe it fits the criteria perfectly for a featured article nomination, as it is well written and features all kinds of detailed, complete information. -- LoneShadowStar (talk)

Invoking Rule 4, I must   Oppose this idea. There are no screenshots of her house (and template Template:House is not used). There are also File:Nia.png's all over because we don't have all the sprites available (because of how Template:WA-card is implemented). This article, or at least the latest revision of it, is sadly not fit enough to be the best of the best. Decomposer (talk) 21:34, February 6, 2019 (EST)
Oppose. Have to agree with the above, sorry. There's just not enough images, and that extends to the gallery page as well. Drago (talk)   10:50, February 7, 2019 (EST)

I've checked through the page of Booker, and I think it meets criteria pretty well. Let me know if there's anything I can do to fix it.       13:00, July 25, 2019 (EDT)

Comment I think the Appearances section could be improved slightly (probably needs a bit more info and slight rewrite) but this article is looking good for being featured otherwise. Drago (talk)   13:11, July 25, 2019 (EDT)
Comment What do you think should change?       21:25, July 25, 2019 (EDT)
