When revealing personal information about themselves, editors should always be cautious of the information that they release. This page provides guidance regarding what personal information editors should and should not give out. While these tips are not required to be followed, it is strongly recommended for the safety of each editor, especially for minors.

  • It is generally okay to reveal one's first name or nickname.
  • It is generally okay to reveal one's age.
  • It is generally okay to reveal one's country and/or state of residence.
  • It is not okay to reveal one's last name.
  • It is not okay to reveal one's city, address, or other information that would help specifically locate them.
  • It is not okay to reveal one's birth hospital.
  • It is not okay to reveal both parents full names.
  • It is not okay to reveal anything that one's parents do not want them to.
