Pelly is a pelican in the Animal Crossing series who works at the post office and Town Hall. She works during the day, while her sister, Phyllis, works at night. In Animal Crossing and Animal Crossing: New Leaf, she works at the post office, and in Animal Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: City Folk, she works at the Town Hall. Unlike her sister, Pelly is cheerful and appears to enjoy her work. In Wild World and City Folk, Pelly also announces events.

Appearances

In Animal Crossing

Pelly in Animal Crossing.

Pelly can be found from 7 AM to 7 PM in the Post Office in Animal Crossing. She is the daytime clerk. The player can talk to her to send and save letters to other villagers. In other towns, the player can talk to her to send letters to villagers in that town. She is in love with Pete, but is too shy to mention it to him. Unlike her sister Phyllis, Pelly is always kind to the player.

In Wild World

Pelly has the same role in Animal Crossing: Wild World as she did in Animal Crossing, where she will send and save letters for the player. She now lets the player edit the Town Tune. Pelly has a secret crush on Pete, the mail worker. She will sometimes sigh about Pete, and she may tell the player her story. She writes on the town bulletin board about happenings, birthdays, and her own anonymous thoughts. She can be found enjoying coffee in The Roost an hour before her shift on random days. The player can get Pelly upset; after the player shoots Pete from the sky and becomes friends with him, Pelly will give the player a "talk."

Pelly's photograph (or "Pic") can be obtained after the player saves 100,000,000 Bells in the bank account. The picture quote is "Always remember the Boondoxians". Pelly has an ongoing job to better the Boondoxians, poor, inept villagers in a town.

In City Folk

Pelly still works the same shift at the Town Hall in Animal Crossing: City Folk. However, she can now fix problems for the player, such as the chance the player is locked out of their own house or if there is a problem with the player's villagers' clothes or catchphrases. She does not handle banking anymore, as that is now part of the ABD (Automatic Bell Dispenser). Her writing on the bulletin board remains, and she still has a crush on Pete.

Pelly can be seen in the Roost sometimes before her shift in the Town Hall. She can be found from 6:00 AM to 6:59 AM, waiting for her shift. Pelly will often say that Phyllis is not as mean as she looks.

In New Leaf

In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Pelly once again works at the Post Office, which is now located on Main Street, separate from the Town Hall. As in the previous games, she works in the early hours of the day, and she retains her cheery mood. However, unlike past entries in the series, she no longer announces special events and daybreak, giving the task to Isabelle instead.

In New Horizons

Pelly's Poster in New Horizons.

Although Pelly does not appear in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Pelly's Poster can be obtained from Nook Shopping after attempting to invite her to Photopia via her amiibo.

In Pocket Camp

Pelly appears in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp as the host of the garden event Pelly's Flight of Passion, in which the player must plant Bleeding Hearts in order to attract heartbeetles. If the player catches a certain amount, Pelly will reward them with gifts.

In Gekijōban Doubutsu no Mori

Pelly appears in 🎬 Gekijōban Doubutsu no Mori, where she serves as a supporting character. She helped Ai when she first came to Animal Village. She can also be seen stopping Tortimer from surfing in the summer and looking at Gulliver's crashed U.F.O. behind a tree with Phyllis.

Pelly & Phyllis

Description Sisters who work at the town hall, which is open 24 hours a day. The younger Pelly is at the window from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., while Phyllis has the night shift. Pelly's cheerful and polite manner makes her the model of good customer service. Phyllis, however, is snooty and treats everyone with impatience and disdain. That said, she's very efficient at her job.

Phyllis & Pelly

Description NTSC-U: The pelican sisters work at the Post Office. Phyllis has a pink color to her, and she handles the night shifts. Pelly is white and works during the day. Pelly has a crush on Pete the delivery boy, but Pete has feelings for Phyllis. Awkward! They won't let it distract them from their job(s), though.

PAL: The pelican sisters both work at the Post Office. Phyllis (the one with all the make-up on) handles the night shifts, and Pelly takes care of things during the day. Pelly fancies the delivery boy, Pete, but he actually has feelings for Phyllis. Awkwaaarrrd! At least they never let the drama distract them from doing their job(s)!

    Trivia

    • In Animal Crossing: City Folk, if the player sticks to the main story, Pelly is the first character spoken to (which is not started automatically), besides Rover.
    • A NookPhone with Pelly's placeholder fabric pattern.
Although Pelly is physically absent from Animal Crossing: New Horizons, placeholder data for her NookPhone exists and uses the "FtrCmnFabricDotMedium00" fabric pattern, a pink design with colorful polka dots.[1]
