The Pond, also called a Holding Pond, is the smallest body of water in a Animal Crossing series town. It is the small patch of water that would probably fit inside a six-by-six sized room in the player's house. There are usually two ponds in every town, with some towns having a third or fourth depending on the layout. It is the only body of water that is not part of the river to ocean system, which includes the river, the waterfall, the river pool and the ocean, therefore it is limited in the number of fish that can be caught. The fish are small and not worth much. Only two bugs are found in ponds, the pondskater and diving beetle.
